I'm running Windows 7 home pro 64.
GeForce 8500

I've tried every suggestion I could find in the forums. The game starts to load in a small window in the center of the screen, then splits and crashes after the initial cinematic. This happens no matter what I try. I've updated my video drivers. I installed it outside of the (x86) folder, I'm running as admin, XP mode, -no3d, -doublebuffer, etc.

Please help! I really want to play this game again.

Did you try installing different older video drivers? This may fix it.

They say try the 186.18 version of the driver, which is a much older version. If that one doesn't work, try a few other versions from near that time.

You can find the 186.18 version here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_64bit_186.18_whql.html

When you say it crashes after the initial cinematic, do you mean the Sierra logo, or the game introduction movie? Moving the game movies to another folder and seeing if the game starts fine may also be worth a try. You can put them back if it doesn't fix anything.
It plays the opening movie of the two knights and then goes to this screen. The music plays and the mouse will move but nothing else. Task manager says the program has stopped responding and I have to force close it.

Loading the old driver fixed it. Thanks a bunch!
