Can anyone tell me where to find the Key for AquaNox (I must enter a Key to go to Singleplayer/Multiplayer or even Setup)?

Unless its something special with this game gog normally removes the key check unless required for multiplayer. Have you had aquanox installed on that same PC before installing the gog version?
You can also contact gog support for a key for the game, they don't work weekends though so expect it sometime next week.

Aquanox was not installed before (not the gog nor the box version).
I used my old original Key from the box version instead but I think I only oversee the Key on the website/my account information.
I contact the support for a key and for the Aqunox 2 soundtrack (waiting for an answer now).

I certainly never got a response at all for this issue. I forgot about it, but now I'd kind of like to play so I'm here to bump.

I installed Aquanox on one computer, then I copied (not installed) the files onto another computer. The game on the computer with the files that were copied needed a key. I just checked the key on the computer with the installed copy and used it, now everything works OK on both computers. FYI, when I searched the internet for Aquanox key I found a key given out by a customer service rep on a Steam forum for Aquanox. It was the same key on my installed copy!

Anyway, try installing the game again.

I know this thread is years old, but i want to write the solution here because i had the same problem.
If you install the game and then switch to another user, then the game wants a key.
For example, if you installed the game as an administrator and start the game as a standard user, then the game wants the key.

The keyfiles are at c:\user\USER\Appdata\Roaming\AquaNox
Copy the aquanox folder to the other users roaming folder.

This is an old thread but I still have not found a solution to this. I'm the only user on this PC. I asked support but they said that it is weird, it shouldn't do that. But, well here I am. Tried different drives, different installs, run as administrator. etc. This seems to be a very old issue.

Hello. I finally got the game working for myself on win10. I only needed to uninstall from whatever hdd I had it installed on, and moved it onto the ssd I had gog galaxy installed on.



Edit Nov 15 2018: I did a clean install of Windows 10 and it no longer works again. Game asking for key check again.

I installed the game again.
This time on a new Windows 10 computer. (Last time windows 7)

I had the same problem like last time, but the same solution works for me.

I saw your post and this time i checked where you can find the cdkey.

I knew the cdkey must be in a file inside c:\users\USER\AppData\Roaming\AquaNox

I checked the files and found my cdkey.

In c:\users\USER\AppData\Roaming\AquaNox\config_1_18.txt there are lines like this

[CVar16]
{
Name = "g_cdkey"
Type = "cstring"
Value = "****-****-****-****"
}

****-****-****-**** is the cdkey. Mine ends with 2592.

can u check your file?
when i delete the file and start the game, the game creates a new file but the "Value" line is empty, then the game is asking for the cdkey.

So i think when you install the game the gog installer will copy a already existing config_1_18.txt to Roaming folder.
So i might be possible we all use the same key.
It would be great if another guy could check his key and when it ends with 2592 too, then this might be true.

Here another idea.
Delete the game.
Delete the Aquanox folder inside C:\users\USER\AppData\Roaming
Install the game again.
Before starting the game: Check if config_1_18.txt exists inside C:\users\USER\AppData\Roaming\AquaNox
If yes: open the file with editor and search for the cdkey.

same problem here,

on my old HDD i found the old config_1_18.txt created years ago, the key was there
i put the old key into [CVar16] -> the game works now

my key starts with "1c" and ends with "2592", so i think all the keys are the same, if you google for aquanox key you will find it

im wondering why the key is not enetered automatically with a new installation

UPDATE:
in gog aquanox game folder there is goggame-galaxyFileList.ini that shows all installed files, some files are copied to:
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\support\1207658842\1207658842\AquaNox
and there is a config_1_18.txt with >>filled key<<
copy this config_1_18.txt to your c:\users\USER\AppData\Roaming\AquaNox\config_1_18.txt
no need to google for the >PURCHASED< key

Hello, necroposting the solution… Find the config txt, move it somewhere else safe, in case, and either reinstall/verify the files, and a new one will be written with the CD key included!
