In just over an hour

I got this game for 4 dollars during a "Gem" promo, do I feel like it was worth my money? I would say yes, It was something pretty special and had a really unique feel to it, it almost reminded me of Morrowind where you are thrown into something mysterious, alien-like and bizzare.

The ending was a bit underwhelming though and I suppose I expected something a bit more, still, a pretty damn enjoyable experience - even today

Let's hope that Heart of Darkness will come here to GOG someday soon!

Me too, my first try was around 1 hour. I still play the game like once every month. After I get used to it, usually it'll take 12-20 minutes to complete the game.

My fave part is the last part (launching from tank and after landing the public bath area). The speed and battles in that part is just intense.

I really hate the cave area filled with those nasty spiky tentacles.

Yeah, I hope the sequel will be here (however awful the reviews said) though the main human char is considered dead in that version. :/

Heart of Darkness is actually a different game that's unrelated to Another World, although it was made by the same man. The "official" sequel to Another World was called Heart of the Alien, but the creator of Another World was not involved in that one.

I've never played Heart of Darkness but apparently it was pretty cool, so I'd love to see it on GOG too.
I bought Another World some months ago, and this Christmas was the right time to play it through. Took me longer than expected, because some riddles were not obvious (to me).
I have to say, the graphics are wonderful (regarding the age of the game). The sound could have been better, in-game-music is missing. :( Controls are clunky, but not mean (like jumping in Prince of Persia 2, which was kind of random).
The story was the best part. I like those "I don't know where I am" stories, and here you also live a (short) story on a foreign world, still making friends and try to escape together. Wonderful. :)

Although a bit short … I expected something more, after I read that this is the predecessor of another masterpiece I played lots of times:
Flashback from Delphine Software. This was really good, it had an even better control and PoP like graphics, also outstanding 20 years ago. If someone did not have played Flashback: do it. It is wonderful story, packed in a shooting/puzzle platformer game. I wish there was a sequel …

Anyone one if GOG is planning on putting Flashback on the list? The CD version would be nice, the German one even more. (Since I did not pay in those days for so much hours of fun, I would appreciate doing it now.)

Actually, there was no in-game music in the original game. The soundtrack included with the GOG version features tracks recorded for the game, but the only music that made it in was for the intro and outro. I'm not sure why, but my guess is that it was due to memory limitations and the music simply couldn't fit into the game.

There is. It's called Fade To Black, and was actually a third-person 3D action game. It's an odd one, but kind of cool, although I thought Flashback was better. Check it out:

I enjoyed replaying the game, but it's certainly a lot shorter than my nostalgia goggles would have led me to believe. Has been many years since I played it, though.

That said, I was a little disappointed that music hadn't been added as optional, it being the 15th Anniversary edition and all. I had previously owned it on the Mega Drive, which did have music. And it was pretty good, too.
