Hi all

I've had this game on GOG for about a month now, noticed theres now a rtx update (and a new level) but its not included on GOG and only on Steam?

I asked them on Steam forums about GOG version and they just flat out ignored it and continued to answer Steam users questions.

How often does GOG version get updated, and how far are we behind builds compared to Steam version?

Thanks guys
That RTX stuff is in BETA so that's why it's not here yet. All other patches and DLCs have been added to the GOG version already so yeah New Blood and Indefatigable do care.

Ok, thanks.

I just worry a lot sometimes that we get treated like 2nd class citizens on here by some companies

It happens with other games and companies, indeed (I'm still pissed about the updates OST and DLC not being available for West of Loathing or how other games have been abandoned here -Nuclear Throne for instance), but it doesn't seem it's the case here, as far as I can tell, New Blood uses Steam to test out the beta stuff because deployment is easier, but they still include stuff.
See for instance how they added an exclusive level to Dusk when releasing it here, after they made sure everything would work fine.

They completely ignore the GOG version and refuse to answer questions. We are second-tier customers to them; an annoyance they wish would just give them money then shut up about how non-Steam versions are comparatively abandoned.

Lazy, entitled devs.

There's no excuse for the lack of communication on New Blood's part regarding this. That said, you're not really missing much. It's a beta build that has ray tracing, but broken DLSS, so performance is terrible. I assume they're trying to iron out the (pretty big) bugs before releasing it as a non-beta update. When they do that, I expect they'll release it on GOG. They're basically using Steam users as beta testers. They really should at least communicate, if not release the beta here on GOG, though.

New Blood has a great track record regarding GOG, including delaying the release of DUSK for almost a year because they wanted to get crossplay working first. I hope this isn't a sign that they're starting to go in a really bad direction. Not long ago, the creator of MAXIMUM ACTION parted ways with them for "creative differences". I have no idea what actually went on behind the scenes, but in general, none of this looks good for the company's image. I'm willing to keep giving them the benefit of the doubt, but not for much longer, unless they start communicating.

Exactly this as often said by the devs in the past. New Blood has always released things here when they where complete and not BETA anymore. Besides this RTX stuff (which the game never really needed to look good anyway) everything else that was added with patches is already included in the GOG version. The Ancient Alpha Builds can be found in the "Goodies" section and the new level can be found ingame under "Quest". Version number is 2055A which is the most up-to-date build.

I look forward to seeing the final RTX build, been holding myself off finishing the main game until everything is finished.

Looking forward to this DLC expansion they're working on too, it really is a beautiful and amazing game
