Hey I am having an issue with this game. Decided to play it today and was enjoying the little intro movie and when I got to the title screen..everything is white. I can't find a question on here that seems like my issue so idk what to do. Please if anyone has any idea in what to do to fix my problem tell me.

Also I tried to do screenshots and it for some reason is only taking screenshots of the first second of the intro movie and not of the title screen that I am staring at!

Same here, windows 10 64-bit + gtx 970.

Well, its my own fault, info page does not says that game support windows 10...but still sucks.

Funny thing: spanish version (which is available on GOG) & demo version doesn't have 'white' textures bug on Windows 8, 8.1, 10.
Also in case you're using Windows 8 and experiencing this issue, you can roll back big update KB3000850.

I got rid of rid of that update and it worked briefly. Another update broke it though. I am thinking about a different approach to this problem. I'm planning to reinstall the game, then use DXwdn to render it differently to see what happens. For anyone wanting to try it before I redownload the game, here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/ I tried with Simon the Sorcerer 3D, a PS3 controller, anti-micro, and the scarlet crush productions toolkit to try to get the game playable with a controller. It worked.

I tested it and it doesnt work, the best work around i've found is to use the spanish version exe and the locale file from the PS2 version.

Wrong just go to X:\Program Files (x86)\GalaxyClient\Games\Alone in the Dark - The New Nightmare\Provider (where X is the drive letter you have the game installed) create a right click a blank are there select NEW->Text Document rename it "LOCALE" without quotes and without the .TXT on the end and it's done play the game!

If the text is read from the locale file, how a dummy file would help? Also, the the english release dont have a locale file. Please abstain from spreading false and useless info.

Do you even know whats the issue? No, right? The english and french releases dont show the textures on windows 10. Only the portuguese and spanish (that i know of) versions work, but they do read the text from the locale file, when this file is missing there's no text so its pretty hard to select an option on the main menu. When the file is empty or damaged, the game stays at a black screen and freezes.

How to change the Spanish version to completely English because people where I come from Do Not speak or understand Spanish / Portuguese the english Demo exe works but makes the game behave like the demo!
