So I was using the 24.2.1 drivers when I first installed this game, and the performance was absolutely horrible for the gpu I have (6800 XT) - I updated the other day to 24.3.1 and reinstalled the game, and let support know I was going to try to fix it.

I tested for about 5 minutes, but I can say in those 5 minutes, the game didn't stutter at all, and was incredibly fluid, which it hadn't been up to that point.

Just a potential solution for AMD graphics card users. If you have Nvidia, maybe try updating as well. Both of them are pretty good about fixing stuff for newer releases, and while AitD may not be a completely marquee release, whatever AMD fixed seems to have also fixed the game.

GL HF, will post more when I get back to it and further test.

There's still some stuttering but it's not nearly as bad as before updating to 24.3.1
I ended up refunding the game because the stuttering ended up being worse on second log in to the game. Waiting for some optimization. I have a mid tier somewhat beefy system, so it should be able to handle the game.
There is a solution to this but it requires you messing with ini files.

Cheers. I'll wait a little bit to see if they roll this into a patch, otherwise I'll probably rebuy the game for myself at my birthday.
Without messing with the ini files, I mitigated the stuttering by turning pre compile shaders *off* in the options > graphics menu.
