When I first played AvP 2 I finished it in a few hours on medium.

Here I am on beginner getting my ass kicked at the very beginning, and I've been at this all day, so far only playing the Alien..

The farthest I've gotten is when you 1st see humans. Oh the walkthroughs it says "sneak up on them" but there are three are four all facing different directions. Even if I can hit one without being seen, before I ca hit a second I get grenade and flamthrowers up my ass. The few times I managed to hot that 1st group I immediately get blown up by something else or nailed by the auto cannons which wouldn't be so bad but THERE IS NO WAY to replenish health! :O

Am I missing something? A secret health button? A 2nd jaw button? A "pounce" button? How about an invisibility button? :P

I know this is a really bitchy winy thread but I really want to adore this game but getting killed every 30 seconds is starting to grate on my fragile little mind.

I actually just had a really nice session Spinorial; almost got into Lab #2. :D

Hey, since I got your attention, do the limited saves start over after each level or am I stuck with just that number until I move onto the next chapter? I found a command line code to get rid of them but I'd like to avoid cheating if possible.

They refresh every level. Also, the Temple just happens to be one of the tougher Alien levels, in my opinion. Btw, game's running, so hop on if you wish
Game turned into a bit of a proper clusterfuck, sorry. Could make a new one, if you'd like...

You replenish health by using the jaw attack. Line up the victim's head (on a living person or dead body) in the center of the screen and you should see two jaws appear. Click primary fire to bite their head off. Doing this to a dead body will restore a bit of health, while doing it to a living person will restore a lot of health. You can also claw at dead bodies to get very little health back gradually.

There are a couple ways around the turrets. One is just to run or jump really fast behind them so they have no time to shoot at you. The other way is, going up one of the flights of stairs (the side without the predator blood), there is a room in the center with four grates. Break the grates and follow the tunnels. If you follow them all, they will eventually take you to all four of the substations (for lack of a better word) so you can destroy the units that unlock the labs,. The tunnels will help you completely bypass all the turrets.

A tip on taking out the humans: some of them carry molotov cocktails, which they may throw, or drop when they get killed. These are civilians and the molotov is the only weapon they carry. You can actually prompt them to throw them at you, and if you move away quickly enough, you can escape the fire. They may light other humans on fire or themselves on fire. If you get ignited, just run around for a bit to extinguish the flames. Hopefully you'll leave enough civilians alive to line up your jaw attack and get some free health. :)

Sorry you didn't drop by the game. It's still running, had some decent bouts of major merriment and mayhem, so feel free to drop by. I'll probably keep it running all day.

It's Thanksgiving down here. Lot's of annoying family hoopla and barely any time to log on. I'll check it out eventually, don't worry.

Oops, sorry bout that, I keep forgetting today. I guess most of the attention is on tomorrow anyway :P
yeah alien sucks. I didn't even want to play it. basically if you just keep moving shit won't hit you. stay on the ceilings above marines and they might not spot you. hit out lights and it will make it more difficult for them. basically you're safest when you're running full speed. there are occasionally places where you have to be careful and position a wall between you and a turret, but until you get out of line with the turrets, speed is the only thing. as people said, biting people replenishes health and clawing at people will replenish health at random as you bite them. to do the health-replenishing thing, line up the centre of your screen on their head. it's a bit hard to do without crosshairs but you can.

play the marine and the predator. that's where the game really shines. the marine is pretty tough going. rebellion really tried for some authenticity in the balance here, with the exception that predators might be too tough. but for the marine, you really are fragile.

I heard that gog added in the ability to save. no idea how true it is but if so, that goes a long way to making the game enjoyable. I did somewhat resent the limited saves but it does preserve the tension. my advice, though, is turn the music down. that's "CD Audio" turn it down to about half. otherwise it will be difficult. also, if you think you hear one of the little crawling bastards, you probably do. remember that especially if you have flares going because the flares sound like them. and that shit is pretty frightening. also, the F1 button will show you what the HQ guys say to you in campaign mode; you will often not have time to listen to them.
