Some art is of such high quality that you can't imagine anyone else doing it. You can't imagine anyone else singing Beat It other than Michael Jackson. And I have a hard time picturing anyone else "doing" Vertigo. The original 1958 film is about a man who fears heights meeting a woman who has amnesia. I can't possibly imagine any video game can do it justice. The music in the film, for instance, is hard to duplicate. As those who have seen the film know, the music runs almost constantly in the film, and it's never boring, rarely repetitive, and is always filled with emotion. There are so many great artistic qualities in the film that are hard to be "ported" to other media.

Video games have advanced a great deal in recent years, and some believe they are as sophisticated an art form as traditional media like film and literature. To that, I say this: is any video game capable of telling a story like Citizen Kane, War and Peace, Les Miserables, To Kill a Mockingbird, Schinder's List, Parasite, and on and on? The Last of Us or Life is Strange may be good storytelling, but it is TEEN FICTION variety compared to great films and novels. There are ways to go before video game can be as great a storytelling medium as the other media.
