I know this may be off topic, but having been fortunate enough to play this amazing game when I was younger, I’ve always wondered if James Cameron himself played this game or at least used it as a source of creative inspiration given the similarities between the two.
It seems too uncanny to be a coincidence.

Let's see...

Spacehumans mining on other planet? Check.
Tall aliens with cat-like features? Check.
Alien deity prohibiting mining? Check.
Agressive fauna? Check.
Primitive weaponry against guns? Check.
Interspecies sex? Check.
Narrow field of view? Check
Organic housings? Check
Magical Celts? no, not even close

It could potentially, I have to say, having playing it through now.
This is exactly the first thing I thought when I saw that film. I did enjoy it. But I couldn't help but feel Albion nailed it first. :)

Same here! And same for all my friends who played it all those years ago.

I read somewhere on the internets that the theme was quite popular back then and there were many similar stories written during 90s, including Avatar's script. Not sure who did it first but Albion definitely did it the best :)
