CymTyr: The GOG version of Alan Wake is DRM-free. What does this mean? This means there is NO CODE when you buy the game, no serial number, nothing to redeem on Steam. Patches will be applied in a manner similar to how they were done before Steam became popular - that's right you get to download patches and install them!
What? You know anyone stupid enough to believe, that a purchase from one digital vendors store would allow them to unlock the game on another vendor's service? How come they haven't lost all their money to nigerian scammers yet?

Possibly because they are being busy loosing them to the retired US Army Sergeant who made it our of Iraq with Hussein's secret stash :)

nerog517: Personally I don't care that it doesn't have the Steam Client, I actually like being able to pick where my games get installed to and not forced onto whatever drive my Steam folder is on, it also means I don't have to uninstall something else whenever my Steam folder gets too big.

And if the price for that is taking an extra 10 seconds out of my day to download the patch individually and install it then that's a price I'm willing to pay.

Half my games are on one drive, and half on another, this program works great, no issues.
Of course I've found a few third party cracked game .exes, and have moved some games completely out of the Steam path on to other drives rendering Steam's / DRM useless.

-Alan Wake has been great! Thanks GOG!
