"We just released our DRM free version on GOG.com and it’s nice to see that also doing really well. Piracy is something we can’t stop, we don’t like it of course, but hey, if someone pirates our game it’s at the very least a tip of the hat to us that they are interested in our creation…and maybe one day they’ll put their hard-earned cash down on something we make. This is the work we do, we love it and have to remain optimistic.

GOG.com is a wonderful channel and has a really dedicated fan base of PC gamers that prefer their DRM free games. We get it, some people have more than one machine and want to be able to use their license on various machines. We’re totally cool with offering DRM free especially when it’s there for the right reasons. We truly believe in the GOG fans and the results we are seeing already speak for themselves."

Really nice. Remedy are probably one of my top 3 most favorite developers.
Sorry if this was already posted elsewhere, I didn't find it here.
Let's hope more developers follow their example.
NIce read, thanks for posting.

They seem pleased with how their games are doing on GOG, that's a really good sign.
This is what I call customer-friendly and maybe GOG started a little revolution with "DRM-Free". Let's see what other nice games will arrive at the store soon :)
btw I bought Alan Wake 1 both on Steam and GOG because of the lack of DRM. Remedy and GOG deserve that I presume :)

Same here. I bought on steam the day it was released and bought it here along with American Nightmare to have DRM-free version and to support Remedy. Great job guys!
I initially didn't even consider Alan Wake for the PC, since I already had a perfectly good, DRM-free 360 version. But the second it came to GOG, I grabbed it and haven't looked back. Not only that, but there's a noticeable engine improvement in American Nightmare, as it runs twice as well on the same computer as the original game does.

I love Remedy. They're very quickly becoming my favorite non-Indie developer, since they seem to have the Indie mentality that I love so much.
I don't know why but...there are lots of people who bought this game more than one time. It's quite easily to google for an illegal copy of this, especially to download a DRM-Free version of Alan Wake but many people don't. It's nice to read I'm not the only "fool" who bought the same game twice.
I think this should be a very important signal to all developers and publishers. First the music lost finally DRM. Maybe games will loose that damn stuff, too...
Make good games, make it easy to (re-)install games. Put sweet stuff into a game bundle. Keep supporting your developed games and keep in contact with your fans and you will get loyal players who WANT to support and buy your games.
Remedy you did it :)
My sole complaint about Alan Wake is that they're not going to release a SDK for it.
Thanks for posting the link to the interview. Once I finish Alan Wake I'll have to watch the webisodes that they mention.
I hate Steam so I'm very grateful to Remedy for making a legal, drm-free version available. Many thanks and hopefully we'll see Max Payne 1 & 2 on GOG.com soon enough
only reason im playing it is because it came here... id have never had a chance to play it otherwise...

so far its a great investment, im loving every minute of the game!
