I can confirm it works.

Installing the unofficial patch causes the game to crash for me.

After installing the patch, it runs fine. but after running the config program for any purpose, the game will no longer function.

EDIT: Setting the language to english in the config fixed the problem for me.

You know, I'm really skeptical about unofficial patches like this, because as the changelog shows, they are barely fixing any bugs at all, they are adding new non-canon content to the game like graphical changes, new buildings and the like. It's dishonest to call a mod, a patch.

Crosmando, you'll find most people who play online or via pbem run Upatch 1.4. I've been using it since 2010 and have not had any issues. The U in Upatch stands for Unofficial, so I don't think anyone has intent to deceive or be dishonest.

Crosmando have a point. This is why I rarely use unofficial patches. They are sometimes mods in disguise.

Upatch 1.4 is not so much of a mod in my view. It fixes several bugs and addresses some balance issues with the original game. Other mods like Strange Lands and Brave New World then sit on top of it. It does add a few extra terrain based features though. Anyway if you follow the link above it gives clear descriptions of everything it does. The 101146 downloads it has speaks volumes for it. Everyone is welcome to their opinions though and no one is forcing you to use it.

If it adds or change content and is published by the creator of the game it's a patch. If it's not the creator publishing it it's a mod. It can be as popular as you like and fix every bug there is but it's still a mod.

Sorry if I'm getting a little bitchy about it. This is a internet phenomena that irritates me so I can get carried away. :P

I've been using this patch since I discovered it a few years back. Wonderful work, and to those interested in it, the UPatch adds so much to the Map Editor!

Im playing through the campaign at the moment, will this patch break the campaign completely or won't it apply to it at all?

(The question is if the patch only applies to scenarios i guess)
Cus if it does il just postpone testing out zed patch.
