Mimo: Not sure what the proper etiquette is, but I must admit that quitting on an alliance would definitely rub me the wrong way. Quitting on peace doesn't have the same effect since it's solely a "not currently at war" state. But alliances, that's letting the other person see behind the proverbial curtain...
Maybe there should be a 5-turn truce after an alliance is broken - so, if you break alliance on turn 6, you can only break the peace on turn 11

Also.... I just checked, you didn't even have to fight anything to get to those hatchlings!! God damn

Better to just call the map a free for all "FFA" and prohibit both alliances and spell trading. And then deactivate "alliance victory allowed". We should always prohibit Master spells too, though we sort of do that already...

I'd get over having an ally turn on me eventually, but that would hurt much more than just a regular backstabbing. Regular backstabs are part of gaming. :)

One thing is for sure, I want surrender deactivated on our next map!!! I'm still mad about attacking Viteks high level units that all had 1-3 hp apiece two maps ago only to see my units surrender without even a fight.

Noted. Shall I start a Five Alive game without waiting for everyone' comments and Wizard choices, since it's a quick and blanced map?

Who are the five? Mimo, Southern, Vitek, Catermune, Bookwyrm, and Vitek all appear available. Wenne is the busiest, so count him in for the larger, slower paced game would be my guess...

Bring it on!!!

I'd be food for my neighbors. :(

Nom, nom, nom.

What's wrong with that? :-)

Never tried it before but that's good idea. I am down for playing two different nations. :-)

Mimo: I noticed your troops getting closer and closer to my Towers. Believe me!
I tried to always have them do something so they are not there uselessly only to wait for possible war but it was getting ahrder and harder to find them something to do at the right places. :-)

Really?
I see nothing wrong with it and I'd like to believe I'd see nothing worng even if I was on the otehr side of it.
Afterall, it allows both sides see behind the curtain.

Sure, I certainly wouldn't like if an ally would position units right into my territory and then used them to attack me 1 or 2 turns later but if it was done natural way (not positioning units in enemy territory, breaking the alliance and then eventually go to war, not right away), I'd have no problem with it.

I am sad you didn't carry on for few more turns.
I was 1 or 2 turns from capturing your frostling town and that would mean I have at least 1 town of every race. :-)
I was missing undead and frostling for some time and I got 2 undead from catermune.

During the X-mas holidays, I am catching up with some reading :)

I must confess I feel silly how quickly I got killed. But even with the benefit of Hindsight, not much I could have done against those Dragons. I had to get on water to expand, so my troops were bound to be on water sooner or later...

Yeah, you were screwed. That's the big disadvantage of playing a map twice and doubly so, since I was Human the first time and knew how vulnerable you'd be. Plus, you put a jerk (me) as the closest player to you. ;-)

The Dark Elves have a nice starting spot, but if they don't kill someone quickly, their starting spot becomes less nice. Very little room to expand.

Btw, Vitek and I are mad at you for starting a less than ideal version of this map. The more recent version was updated to balance the races and starting locations.

IIRC, no dragon hatchlings and only one set of Doom Bats for the Dark Elves, among other things :p

Sorry, did not notice. I am so used to playing with Upatch that I actually think it is standard now :)

Just noticed this comment...

Really? Wow, that would have made my start much tougher. Of course, that would have made the Human start (and existence) much better by comparison.

In that case, Wenne got what he deserved!
