I could see myself maybe joining in this one.
I would absolutely love to join in a game such as this.
Custom Leaders or default?
6 people interested already huh! So should we play it with half the races as AI, or each player ruling two races?

Thereunto: Custom Leaders or default?
Why don't we ask the map maker if it was designed with default leaders in mind?

Maybe I would prefer AI here, as long as the player races are in balance (2 good, 2 evil, 2 neutral?). Alternatively we could wait and see if there is more interest. Not the expert on how active this forum is, is there any scenario where 12 players would be possible?

That would be the best approach, I agree!

I could go either way on controlling 1 versus 2 races.

My ribbing Southern aside, as he noted the biggest exploits from dual race control aren't present in AoW1. You can trade gold and mana, but anything else has to be taken via war.

I think I might like to see Allied Victory enabled, though. It would make thematic sense for this map. Seeing some strange bedfellows (Highmen + Undead joint victory) could be amusing.

I really don't see 12 players happening. We've probably about reached the number we're going to reach.
If I counted correctly we should have 7 interested players:

Thereunto
southern
Bookwyrm627
Daeroman
jyri
DaemonVirus
FRM_Vicious

I mean no disrespect to DaemonVirus, but this is probably quite a large map and it will never finish if he joins.

Well the "cults and keepers" and "Honeyvale falls" maps at least are progressing quite nicely :)

Good to hear. :)

I haven't been watching those; I'm mostly judging by the long periods in Green Valley and the big disappearances a while back.

It's probably rude to DV to talk like this, but whatever, I'm rude.
In our current 1v1, Kin Slayers, my average turn time is 10 hours 46 minutes. His is 45 hours 45 minutes.

Which is actually still within the old 2 day benchmark. Although, that's average, meaning some are longer...
DV is putting turns out reasonably consistently these days, but still kinda slow. I think we could include him, because I for one am resigned to very long turn intervals, but I can see your point too. Besides, he actually did revive those PBEMs after months of absence, which is quite something.
Hey guys,

The only parameters that are intended to be followed for this map are:

Allied Victory On
AI set to CPU Emperor

With different mods having different skill costs, I didn't put too much thought into start abilities - I was more concerned with starting everyone off with 25 skill points. Now that I think about it, Frostlings will have 15 points left over on 1.36 as Cold Strike costs 25 on my mod, and I think 10 on 1.36? It's been a long time.

Also 'Shiv Nightwolf' is totally made up as there are no memorable Frostling leaders that I can remember from the campaign... just a bunch of generic low-level "leaders". If anyone has any better ideas for a Frostling leader let me know, A "new" leader made more sense to me than someone like Dornam who would be long dead by the time the campaign happens. And although Ham Binger was the exception, I didn't really intend to put heroes as leaders. But maybe I should?

By the way, Ham Binger, Julia, Meandor, and Inioch can all be resurrected as heroes after turn 75..... along with Queen Elwyn as Undead or Elf. I realize there is the possibility of them not being dead in time, as well as two Elwyns on the map at once (very low odds), but wanted to have this as a feature of the map. The number of turns is one of the things I'm looking for input on.
I just started two threads for setting up PBEMs for this map. One thread with IniochReborn's mod and one without. Might get a different crowd for either.
Hey guys, no offence taken. Life is hard, I've been consistent lately which is wonderful for me. Sorry about this past week... I've been sick and looking for a job, haven't had too much time for anything else. My apologies for any delays in any games, not my intention to be an annoyance to anybody.

Big apologies for the long turns to Southern and thanks as well for joining me in some 1v1 games. Gives me something to look forward to. :)
