I share your frustration. Being left-handed, one is forced to reach across the keyboard with their right hand to use the navigational keys on the far side of the keyboard, trying to stretch your pinky out to use the spacebar, while your thumb doesn't have access to anything practical. It seems silly that their wouldn't be an alternate layout for the left-handed, but even so, custom key binding would seem like the best option.
