I highly suggest everyone get the unofficial patch "Advent Revising".
It was created by players to improve the game experience and fix some annoying bugs.

I wonder why GOG doesn't include this as part of the official download.
Very nice. Thanks. :-)

This is quite late but the patch is really worth installing.

Hakuna matata! It means no worries...
I too believe that the unofficial patch should be added to GOG as an optional download. Please, GOG!
Does this patch add a windowed mode to Advent Rising?
Is there any way we could actually get the fan patch cleared for use with the GOG.com edition? The DL from the fansite is really slow and it'd be super nice to have something like this available similar to how the Enhanced Editions were handled with Gothic 3 and its 'Expansion'.
Something that for some reason no one ever brings up is that while this patch fixes several cutscenes, the fixed ones are quite a bit more compressed than the original ones.

It's weird that the creator of this patch went to all this trouble to fix the cutscenes and then compressed them so bad.

In the end I recommend to use the "glitched" ones that shipped with the game.

Are you sure? Because he explicitly mentions a LITE version with recompressed cutscenes and a FULL version with 1.5 gigs of data.

I got it from this mirror that was listed on the page. It was a lot faster.

Yes, I am sure.
