The first game is one of my favorite games of all time. The second game is all over the place. Visually it's fantastic, and the combat is decent, but the story pacing is awful...the last half of the game feels like it was written by someone who watched too much Game of Thrones, and the ending is one of the worst ways to end a game I've ever seen in my life.
Simply put, people have a different opinion than you do. For example, everything you said about the storyline I completely disagree with you, everything about the storyline I fully enjoyed, even the ending was very much appropriate.

So here we have a negative and a positive opinion, so I have nothing to comment on. I really don't care either way. I just play any game and go on to the next one!

I guess I just have higher standards.

I agree with you. The ending was just awful and depressing. It might have made sense for the story, but that doesn't make me feel any better about it. This is actually the 3rd game in a row that I've played that has had an ending as devastating as this one. I've actually decided to take time off from playing video games because it's just getting too much. I've lost my enjoyment of games, which makes them pointless to play.
I loved the game but ever since Sofia killing Milo the story just unnecessarily dragged on. The two Count boss fights were pretty bad, lets just say close quarters combat is pretty jank, especially against shields ignoring clear onobstructed headshots. Saw the ending coming from a mile away, the game gave me strong Walking Dead season 1 vibe, would be cool to have a third ending though.
FFS OP, I really hate some objectively well made games, like GTA 5, and RDR2, Soulsbornes, pretty much any game that is melee focussed NOT for me.

Blizzard, Nintendo?
Don't care, I've never liked anything thes two have ever made, it doesn't mean they make bad games.

I loved Dying Light, and The Following, but found Dying Light 2 unplayable, and forced melee was my reason for calling it the year's biggest Disappointment.

This I made a choice early on, I will wait for Ray Tracing to be done, so have no final opinion yet.

I loved playing some objectively badly made games, and in most cases, iit was the story that gripped me enough to have fun, despite being janky games,

People gave exact same pacing reasons for disliking Alien: Isolation.
If you're loving the content, pacing is perfect, if not too fast.
If you're not loving the content, pacing is always going to be "off", or drag out to long..

The real question people like you, never seem to ask:
Why must everybody agree with my opinion?

Play game, have fun? Move on.
I will discuss in great length, my opinions, and why I like/dislike. a game ad nauseum.
LOL Have you seen my average Post Lengths, I can write a Trilogy of novels, on a single settings featue, or lack of a setting. Before I ever start the game.

To franchise fangirls, my most used responce.
I look at every gane as standalone, and I hate your favourite franchise.
So is the game, a great game, despite the franchise, not because of the franchise?
If I think it is, I will say so.

Voice your opinion, debate with others why they think different, but accept the fact, that we don't ever want to all think the same way, enjoy the same Shit.

My Shits, not better than your shit, they both stink to everyone else, and that's exactly how it should be.

Having fun, great, that's the entire point of playing.
If not, just move on, and find those games that you think are fun.
What Gamers™ thinks shouldn't matter, you had fun.
End of Story (Note: 2nd part of this new Forum Trilogy Will be released when it' s ready).
