This game looks damn pretty. Has really nice music. And is damn fun to play.
The combat isn't outstanding, but the combination of elemental effects on the whip, and decent selection of spells keeps it interesting.
The movement and controls feel snappy and overall pretty good. Though swinging from the grapple points feels a bit awkward. And sometimes Xandria has the tendency to turn away from the enemy upon being hit (I assume that the hit triggers behind... which can be a bit annoying)
As this is a Metroidvania, there's a lot of upgrades to find and collect... though I'm not sure if weapon loadouts or forward roll should have been a separate upgrade.
While the exploration is nice... the game leaves the player completely directionless a few times... as well as giving useless (or even worse: misleading) directions on where to go next.

Old Review:
This is an oldschool 2d action-adventure game heavily inspired by Castlevania titles.
Or at least that is my impression as someone who oly ever saw some snippets of Castlevania gameplay on YT.
As for this one, I've gotten through the Prologue (which somehwat feels like a Demo part of the full game) and It feels great. The music is quite catchy and I really like the artstyle. Sure it is relatively low-resolution pixel art but it looks good.
The combat feels snappy for the most part and i quite like the animations... but sometimes it feels a little off, I can't put my finger on why, though.
The fact that the dodge is a backflip exclusively bothers me a little as well, but that's more or less me being used to dodge being directional.
Also: bonus points for that Godot splash screen.
