POSTAL 2

What a fantastic deal! Postal 2, Share the Pain AND Apocolypse Weekend for £7/$10! That's insane! But awesome :D For those who don't know Postal 2 is completely different from Postal 1, no longer is it a TPS Isometric Shooter, it's now an FPS. And instead of just being mental thinking that the world is out to get him, you're just a regular guy. A regular guy doing regular things, like taking back a library book, picking up some milk, cashing a paycheck. How you do those things however, is totally upto you. Because Postal 2, is only as violent as YOU are :D So you can go nuts throwing anthrax infected cow heads about the place, or shooting cats from a machine gun or throwing bouncing pairs of razor sharp scissors around. You can even decapitate people with a shovel. Incase you haven't guessed by now, Postal 2 isn't a well thought out story driven masterpiece that makes you cry at the end, Postal 2 is about some good honest fun. It's also got some great one liners that'll make you laugh out loud. So if what you're after is just some mindless fun, then Postal 2 is the game for you :)

Buying groceries, returning library books and picking up christmas trees. Just your everyday jobs that need to be done. It's a shame those protesters try to get in the way so often.... This game is only as violent as you want it. Everyone is at risk from your shotgun... but at the same time the AI works well enough that if you want to queue till you reach the counter to hand in your paycheque then go ahead. The irony of killing everyone in the queue to the confession box in the church is highly amusing... Most of the jokes are parodies of situations at the time - hanging chads, whiny anti-game lawyers and so on but if you are 20 years or older they should ring bells. If you like Gary Coleman you can get his autograph in this... if you don't like him it's a good place for some 'therapy' ;) Graphically this game is from the Unreal era - audibly things are fine. You will want to be able to turn the sound up okay however as there are no subtitles and the quips between characters are amusing to hear. There isn't a huge range of weaponry but the items in place are differentiated nicely. I have given this game a 4 as there is a lot more it could have been and is very short - saved only by the multiplayer and mods. It is however better than Postal 1 - even if the genre is somewhat different.. For just $9.99 you get Postal 2 Share the Pain and the expansion - this is cheaper overall than the gopostal site - so if you want to grab this controversial part of gaming history GoG is a good place to get it.

They've disabled the "mods" tab under the "Custom..." option in this version. If you wish to port your mods from the Steam version to the GOG version in order to enjoy them in a DRM-free environment, you are not allowed to do so. I am honestly disappointed.

Hilarious! This game keeps me going. 5 years have passed since I've last played it, and Dude's voice has been the voice in my head ever since. You can easily relate to him, he's fun to listen to and he urinates on people. What more could you ask for?
