Art Team Lead

We are looking for Art Team Lead to join us on the GOG Art team. In this position you will be responsible for handling and organizing processes so that artists can do what they do best. We are looking for individuals who excel in organization, have exceptional communication abilities, and who are comfortable managing schedules of complex projects. In this role you will act as a liaison between our Art, Product, Marketing and Web teams and make sure these projects are delivered with high standards and on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading GOG's Art Team and managing its day-to-day work.
  • Leading complex cross team projects concerning art work and its operational/process side.
  • Being a GOG guardian of minimum Lead Time as the key element of the planning framework in the art production process.
  • Ensuring successful, on time, release of content meeting the GOG art quality bar.
  • Partnering with other GOG leads to help scope, design and build a process which allows Publishing teams to deliver top notch game releases and events.
  • Facilitating constant communication with Publishing teams, as well as cross department teams, providing transparency on art asset status, risks, and opportunities. Ensure stakeholders have proper visibility into art production and are informed of any changes that may impact their teams.
  • Proactively seeking resolution - being able to identify problems, and propose solutions, for the Art team before they become roadblocks.
  • Cooperating with engineering teams towards optimization and automation of Art production processes.
  • Mentoring and facilitating the growth of Art team members.
  • Taking part in building the team, including interviewing and hiring new candidates.

Job Requirements:

  • Practical experience in the digital design field, including but not limited to graphic design, digital illustration and/or responsive web design.
  • Previous experience working in a production role where you've managed the Art team(s) in the creation and delivery of high quality content.
  • Outstanding communication skills, used for gathering requirements, passing feedback and making sure information flows smoothly between artists and Publishing stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively manage the change in the organization.
  • Previous (and successful) experience in managing others.
  • Proven ability to effectively coordinate and synchronize the work of creative, technical and business teams.
  • Experience in owning and managing cross team projects.
  • Strong artistic sense and understanding of current trends, allowing to guide and help the team through the creative processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in an environment where you had to exhibit amazing problem-solving skills daily, viewing each new problem as an opportunity for success.
  • Have the ability to communicate with varying levels of stakeholders, within your team and throughout the company.
  • Ability to adapt and be effective in new situations within a highly dynamic environment.
  • A positive attitude and a high level of initiative. Eagerness to propose new solutions or new approaches to challenges and projects.
  • An open mind. Gather and share feedback to learn, grow and build up experience.
  • Ability to easily communicate in English.

Pluses:

  • Strong understanding of core UI / UX principles.
  • Passion for gaming and general geekiness.
  • Previous experience in the computer games industry.
