Meet the artist known as Morano and snag his unique GOG GALAXY 2.0 wallpapers

He is not only extremely talented, but also enjoys combining work with his true passion. Tomasz Jędruszek is a talented illustrator who has worked with huge brands like Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings, and Magic: The Gathering. Now, he is using that same fantastic imagination to create GOG GALAXY 2.0 artwork especially for you!

Ever the artist

Tomasz Jędruszek was born in 1977. Although he is an architect by profession, he has always kept the art of illustration and comics-style art close to his heart. When asked about what made him choose to become a renowned illustrator nicknamed “Morano” instead of pursuing a steady architect career, he answers, with a smile:
- It was actually from Morano that I became an accidental student of architecture - probably only to realize that I was always “Morano.” I don’t want to say that I regret leaving the engineer-architect path because I don’t regret it, it’s a solid education.
The idea for a unique nickname came to Tomasz during his high school years. As he was drawing illustrations for small commissions, more and more orders from outside Poland started to come in. For the young artist, it was obvious that he needed a nickname that would be easy to pronounce for someone from abroad. As he recalls:
- At that time, it was something extraordinary. Today, 99% of people are signing projects with their Instagram monikers and no one makes a big fuss out of it. Because I was very fascinated by the art of Milo Manara and Hajime Sorayama, I made my pseudonym out of their names.

International fame

A long time has passed since the early days. During his career, Tomasz has had the pleasure of working on many popular franchises from both print and television. With his illustrations, he has decorated products for brands such as “Magic: The Gathering,” “The Lord of the Rings,” “Star Wars,” “Game of Thrones,” and “Warhammer.”
Morano has also won many awards and honors throughout his career. He has been published in “Digital Art Masters,” “Expose,” “Exotique,” and “The World’s Greatest Erotic Art,” among others.
Privately, he is dedicated to his family and his activities in the Artist on Board group. Its goal is to bridge the gap between professional and amateur artists and create practical and theoretical training for them. When asked about the secret of creating successful art, his answer is quite surprising:
- I’ve always wanted to tell stories with my paintings. Even a simple portrait, a seemingly static thing, can tell an amazing tale. It all starts with a thought. The problem is that these thoughts move 1,000 miles a minute and you have to quickly sit down at the machine and paint it. The project usually goes to the drawer, where it joins hundreds of other ideas. However, I always say that if something is to happen, it will happen. Maybe that moment just hasn’t come yet.
In his work, Tomasz follows the approach of another famous Polish illustrator, the creator of the “Thorgal” comics series - Grzegorz Rosiński. As he describes it, Rosiński even talks about comics with a “fatherly” passion and care.

Check out Morano’s favorite games

So, how did it come to be that Morano and GOG.COM would join forces to create a beautiful poster for all GOG GALAXY 2.0 users? The answer is very simple. As it turns out, Tomasz is an avid gamer. Among his favorite titles are many famous strategy and war titles, which you can check out on GOG.COM at this dedicated list. One of his favorite games is Sudden Strike, where he even developed a certain trademark way to tackle various strategic obstacles!
- First, I always sent a reconnaissance plane and made a quick sketch of the enemy’s positions before they disappeared under the fog of war. After that, I started then methodical shelling with howitzers... to the last shell. Meter by meter, in the dark, according to the sketch. Then I proceeded with the slow march of armored troops followed by the infantry and the final battle with the enemy. I completed missions with practically no losses. The wives and children of my soldiers still write me letters!
