XCOM® 2

XCOM 2 is a cult classic. Form a squad of (mostly) disposable insurgents, and unleash them on their vastly superior alien overlords. Watch as they fumble against the RNG (which actually cheats in your favour...), and try to salvage the inevitable trainwreck of a mission. Once/if you do, remind yourself that, for all of your efforts, you are not actually saving Earth, then deploy your barely-trained-militia in cities where YOU are the invader, just for a chance to uncover a sinister alien conspiracy. The timer is working against you. Be fast, but not reckless. Guerrilla tactics are a must. Will you be able to adapt and overcome? One thing is certain: you may train your men; you may arm them with the weapons of the enemy; many are still not going to come back alive. Why? Because that's XCOM, baby!

After eventually installing almost every random vcredist and directx update I could find, I finally got it to launch and play - without chrashing. An amazing strategy, turn-based game. Not a reviewer, but I enjoy it alot. Also cool to see the development of graphics, story and more.

After few hours of this I'm starting to understand the memes that are dedicated to this game. The point-blank misses are the top layer of the issue. The rules of the tactical battles are not clear at all. You can planning best tactical positioning but random critical strike will break your full cover. And then, you will load your last save or overcome the mission with remaining troops. Game feels more like a product and less like an art - graphic engine doesn't have style. Aliens are typical popular culture references. Not my cup of tea plus bad tactical game. If you want honest and clear rules you can choose any modern tRPG - Jagged Alliance 3, Expedition: Rome, Metal Slug Tactics. Literally random tRPG is better. This is not the best successor to the legendary series.

No way is it cool to force a ton of bs about data collection and not being allowed to use vm or vpn... I could understand a no cheating online rule but this is too far
