Thoroughly oldschool
Created by Al Love ( yes, one of LSL fame ) Torin's Passage is good example of old style point&click adventure games, just like a lot of other Sierra clasics. How much you will enjoy this game depends mostly of how tolerant you are to some design quirks of old p&c, like not always logical puzzles, no highlighting of interactive areas, ocasional pixel hunts, and backgrounds of charming but far from exactly high quality graphics ( ok, game is from 1995, set your expecations low ). Tho one bit of novelty is, unlike almost all of oldschool P&C, death is just slap on the wrist and loads you right back before "bad" decision. There is even easter egg related to that. Storywise, it's not bad, just there is not that much of it. Protagonist gets tricked into chase after sorcer Lycenita, does exaytly that for 99% of the game, and gets a bit of resolution at the very end. Tho understandable in contex of this was first of FIVE planed games. And yes, I got a special message from Al Love at the end. Didn't you?
