Welcome to Titanium Court! Table for one? You have a reservation I assume? You don’t!? Ah, I see. Just minding your own business before stumbling into a realm of magic and faeries, were you? Not to worry, happens all the time. Tell you what, why don’t I see if we can squeeze you in somewhere while you become acquainted with the many amenities offered by the Court.

Amenities such as:

  • Puzzling Battles: For tonight's entertainment, the Court is at WAR! Just a little something to pass the time, you see. Who's in command? Why do you ask? Are you volunteering? Oh don't worry, you won't be issuing orders to these faerie troops. They wouldn't follow them anyways. I think you'll have more success commanding the terrain itself to fall in your favor, haha.
  • Puzzling Narrative: Lore dumps are strictly against my religion I'm afraid, so you'll have to uncover the secrets of the Court yourself. Some of them may even fundamentally change you as a person. Be careful with those!

Diverse and fulfilling career options: Warlord, Arsonist, Celebrity, Insurance Fraudster. Your time within the Court will qualify you for many of these exalted and lucrative positions.

A vast collection of fine art to-wait, what's this?

Hmmm, looks like they're making us take a detour through this list of bullet points. Why? Did something happen up ahead?

Ah, yes, giant mouse lying right in our path. That'll do it. Let's not spend too much time rubbernecking. Where was I? Oh right, bullet points! Here's the last one:

  • Fully interactive shower: for certain definitions of "interactive" and certain definitions of "shower."

Also, before I forget, local ordinance requires I mention that This Game Features a Hefty Amount of Reading so those with allergies or intolerances to such things may wish to steer clear.

And here's an open seat!

Once again, welcome to Titanium Court. Please enjoy your stay!

A Masterclass In The Surreal

Titanium Court is something special. Something so out of left field and unique that it feels like its existence is an anomoly. At a glance from the screenshots, you think you get the gist of it. It's a match 3 game with REALLY retro graphics and some quirky art direction, but that's all skin deep. I do not want to spoil anything I don't have to, but the interplay of systems here is nothing short of amazing. The humor does an excellent job of being funny while not getting in the way. Just as an example of where the game takes you, I was about to fight a boss I had a 0% chance of beating, I had cooked my run to the point of it being burnt, but the game gave me an option. I could watch a musical performance instead of fighting a boss I could not beat. I picked the option expecting a little chiptune song or something, but what I got was a true, capital P, Performance. The actual gameplay is match 3, but not in the way Bejewled is a match 3. You use matches to gather resources, use resources to raise workers and an army, use those workers and armies to protect your castle and gather more resources, while enemy building tiles left on the map may produce enemies to destory said castle. While this sounds maybe a little basic, it is not. Just as a glimpse of where this goes, you'll find yourself going to maps with volcanoes, lighting fields on fire, turning the map to ash....because you need $3 to buy a knight because all you have is lumberjacks and a Zippo. I hope the creator of this game goes on to do more, I haven't seen such a breath of fresh air since Braid took the indie world by storm in the mid-late 2000s.

Where did this guy come from?

I don't know who this AP Thompson guy is but he needs to be more recognised. Titanium Court is a grid-strategy-based puzzler. On that note, its been a while since I've seen such a creative work in both gameplay and narrative. I won't say too much more about it but know that this guy is earning his money. His imagination is off the charts.

I love this stupid game

Funny, addictive, wildly creative. Twee "normie idle game + roguelike" indie nonsense like Balatro tends to leave me cold, but this - this is glorious idiocy, with a lovely soundtrack and remarkable design.

The most unique match-3 you'll ever play

Absurd, addictive, bizarre, charming... I could keep going like I was reading out of a dictionary, but you really have to experience this game, words on a screen just don't do it justice.

Not for everyone

This is a difficult game to review but here's some practical information for people debating whether they'll enjoy it: 1. The vibe of the trailer pretty accurately reflects the vibe of the game. If you find yourself having any sort of strong feeling about it, you will probably feel that way about the game. 2. The story revolves around being trapped in a faerie court. Yes of course it's weird. How could it not be weird? 3. The core gameplay is a match-3 mechanic where the location of each tile has strategic implications. "Ah," you might say, "aren't match-3 games characterized by unpredictable chain reactions where the final position of pieces is unpredictable? Does this not hamper your strategy?" Yes and yes. It's a little annoying. The game does offer a variety of skills, items and play styles to work with this, but at the end of the day you're gonna be doing a lot of match-3. 4. But it's also basically a visual novel. Don't play this game if you don't like reading.
