Description

14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It's a moment of weakness - and that's all they needed. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they've been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.

You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.

Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.

Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural skills as a vampire. Or raise your sword, and employ powerful magic to take on opponents as a human. Experiment and adapt as your form changes during the day and night; each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps, the steep mountaintops, and the medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden.

Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by the next-gen Unreal Engine 5.

Played the prologue for about 30 mins

5/5 to get your attention - and report that the game runs on Linux with proton. It has a tutorial at the start and the interface and presentation feel very much like the Witcher 3. The universe looks intriguing and the graphics are good. Voice acting is professional and voices so far are distinct and memorable. Also works on Linux with Proton or Wine and runs well on my setup (AMD + Fedora). The time mechanic is unique and adds some urgency. I will play more and update this "review" as I go along. If it looks intriguing to you I urge you to buy it - it is a rare AAA game with 0-day DRM free release. Ok that is it for now.

Hard to recommend, but also hard not to.

I will preface this by saying I've only just made it to Anca, one of the first NPCs that you can interact with, but had a difficult time getting to her. While what little I've experienced of the combat and story seems excellent, the game is not without it's share of issues, and performance being a big one. With an RTX 3070, I can't even get a stable 60 fps on Low settings at 1440p and even 1080p still feels like it's hitching. Keep in mind this is all in the first (and presumably smallest) town. Nothing compared to the scale of what's been shown in gameplay and trailers. If I'm already experiencing this level of performance in a small village, I can only imagine how it will be after the prologue. Additionally, controller support is all over the place. First off, the Dualsense Edge is not supported at all and is not playable with it. My only other controller is a Steam Controller 2. The game randomly switches to M+K input, making both combat and menus feel unresponsive at times. Every single time I open a menu, I have to fight the input change as it tries to register a mouse cursor in a different location than where I've been navigating. I'm not sure if this is a result of having to run the application through Steam to be able to use my Steam Controller, but some reviews on Steam also seem to mention similar controller input issues. As much as I want to tell people to buy this game, these two rather signifcant issues make it hard to recommend at this price point at this point in time. Review written on game version 1.01

Main game mechanic is annoying

Yay finally a modern vampire games that looks nice. Combat is decent ones you get used to it but still a bit finicky with parry windows and blocks. Occasionally graphical glitches, heavy loads in densely packed areas with npcs but maybe with coming patches they'll get better Story is quite engaging but there lies the main problem with the game for me personaly. Timed main quest and everything consumes time and heavely. Never liked games trying to rush me or punish for doing things at my own pace. Learning skills consume time, breaking a few barrels takes almost as longs as climing a mountain (wtf? really!?) etc. At this point might as well make every step count towards the time passing because because devs want you to play the game 100 times in order to see anything and definetlly never go doing side quests or challenges because guess what they too eat at time mechanic. Novel idea but too heavy handed without options to tweak it.....maybe with mods but that has it's own issues. I might be too harsh on this but thats just like my opinion maaaan. TLDR I'm very biased and don't like what is essentialy the main mechanic. Ticking clock that forces you to skip things that might be interesting becauses thats the game.

Well written, intresting mechanics

Really great first outing for Rebel Wolves . Well written character dialog, combat is your either gonna love it or hate it I personally think it makes combat feel earned and isn't just "Souls like" combat clone. It's great game, it's one of the more interesting games to release in a while because it dares to be different. I look forward to seeing what Rebel Wolves can do.

FORCED CONTROLS IN 2026!? SERIOUSLY!?

**Forced Controls in 2026?! Seriously?!** I really wanted to like this game. It looks great and runs well on my system, but the control and accessibility options are extremely disappointing. I am a quadriplegic PC gamer, so being able to customize controls is not simply a preference for me—it determines whether I can actually play a game. While the game allows individual keys to be rebound, the combat system still forces certain directional inputs and simultaneous button presses. That defeats much of the purpose of offering customizable controls in the first place. For example, I normally use the left mouse button for sprinting because of my physical limitations. The game's combat system effectively forces me to use the left mouse button for attacking if I want directional attacks to be manageable. I shouldn't have to sacrifice a control scheme that works for me just because the game was designed around one particular way of playing. Even more surprising is the lack of basic toggle options. In 2026, accessibility features such as toggle sprint, toggle crouch, and alternatives to holding multiple inputs should be standard in a major PC RPG. The frustrating part is that this could probably be fixed without changing the game itself. Give players more control over how actions are activated and allow directional combat inputs to be independently rebound. Games should give players choices, especially when it comes to controls and accessibility. Please improve this, Rebel Wolves. I would genuinely like to be able to enjoy your game.
