For Democracy!

In order to kill the bug, you must first think like the bug, act like the bug, become the bug! Seriously though, this game is a lot of fun! Extra bonus points for including inf ammo and health in accesibility, and for getting to play as a bug! A tad short but given its price point, it's well worth the money! This will probably be the closest we'll ever get to a Helldivers II single player mode

Fun that doesnt overstay its welcome.

What you are looking at is 8 missions as a human(1 tutorial and 7 deployments) and 5 as a bug( 1 training and 4 actual missions). Each mission is structured the same: Do 1 objective, then do another 3 in any order and then rest of the mission is linear. Personally it took me 5 hours to go through all at 2nd highest difficulty. Gameplay is fun, weapons are effective(especially e-pulse stuff compared to the ones in Extermination). Movement is fast to the point of running circles around the arachnid. You can lead up to 4 troopers which is really helpful early on but later they might have hard time keeping up with you. Now the real fun bit was how fast you could call resupply to pick new weapon, refill current one and get deployables that could obliterate the whole screen or just be a bit of annoyance. Now one thing got old fast was troopers quoting a lot of lines from the movies. Each human level has 2 secrets each that act as modifiers you can select before starting the mission. Personally I didnt bother looking for them. Now the real good part that had me grin from ear to ear was the videos between the missions featuring Casper Van Dien portraying Johnny Rico yet again. Without spoiling much, the videos present the game as in-world recruitment tool and its done so damn well.

If you are a big fan of the movie 5*

"Come on you apes! You want to live forever?" Decent FPS with retro graphics featuring some interesting ideas and funny/cheesy in game videos. The gameplay is pretty fun, there is variety in the environments and you play part in some of the battles as shown in the movie but from a different perspective. The conceit is that this is a training video game built as a tool for you to enlist in the army and help with the war against the bugs. Service guarantees citizenship! Anyway, it is not too expensive and is quite a bit of fun so get ready for some bug squashing. Good luck soldier!

Captures the atmosphere of the OG movie

Welcome to the mobile infantry, now go out there and slay some bugs! The game gets pretty tough on higher difficulties, which is great for the experience as a whole.
