The community center, once the town's most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. Turn your overgrown field into a lively farm! Raise animals, grow crops, start an orchard, craft useful machines, and more! You'll have plenty of space to create the farm of your dreams.
4 Player Farming! Invite 1-3 players to join you in the valley online! Players can work together to build a thriving farm, share resources, and improve the local community. As more hands are better than one, players have the option to scale profit margin on produce sold for a more challenging experience.
Improve your skills over time. As you make your way from a struggling greenhorn to a master farmer, you'll level up in 5 different areas: farming, mining, combat, fishing, and foraging. As you progress, you'll learn new cooking and crafting recipes, unlock new areas to explore, and customize your skills by choosing from a variety of professions.
Become part of the local community. With over 30 unique characters living in Stardew Valley, you won't have a problem finding new friends! Each person has their own daily schedule, birthday, unique mini-cutscenes, and new things to say throughout the week and year. As you make friends with them, they will open up to you, ask you for help with their personal troubles, or tell you their secrets! Take part in seasonal festivals such as the luau, haunted maze, and feast of the winter star.
Explore a vast, mysterious cave. As you travel deeper underground, you'll encounter new and dangerous monsters, powerful weapons, new environments, valuable gemstones, raw materials for crafting and upgrading tools, and mysteries to be uncovered.
Breathe new life into the valley. Since JojaMart opened, the old way of life in Stardew Valley has changed. Much of the town's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair. Help restore Stardew Valley to it's former glory by repairing the old community center, or take the alternate route and join forces with Joja Corporation.
Court and marry a partner to share your life on the farm with. There are 12 available bachelors and bachelorettes to woo, each with unique character progression cutscenes. Once married, your partner will live on the farm with you. Who knows, maybe you'll have kids and start a family?
Spend a relaxing afternoon at one of the local fishing spots. The waters are teeming with seasonal varieties of delicious fish. Craft bait, bobbers, and crab pots to help you in your journey toward catching every fish and becoming a local legend!
Donate artifacts and minerals to the local museum.
Cook delicious meals and craft useful items to help you out. With over 100 cooking and crafting recipes, you'll have a wide variety of items to create. Some dishes you cook will even give you temporary boosts to skills, running speed, or combat prowess. Craft useful objects like scarecrows, oil makers, furnaces, or even the rare and expensive crystalarium.
Customize the appearance of your character and house. With hundreds of decorative items to choose from, you'll have no trouble creating the home of your dreams!

As this game starts, it would seem like a harvest moon type game but it goes so much farther than that. This game has so much more customization than most farming games on the market right now, and goes beyond farming to include a storyline plot with the 2 different options for the main line (Joja Cola or Community Center), social aspects up to babies, physical fighting with control, complete customization of layout of the farm, and a very large exploration map. This seems like a crash between Harvest Moon and Fantasy Life (3DS). I highly recommend if you want a game with a large amount of replay ability.
This brings back so many wonderful memories from my childhood playing Harvest Moon.
I honestly enjoyed it so much i bought it on GOG and Steam.
The game is made with love and is still being supported and will have a new patch soon.
Im writing this (12th Sept 2016) and will add more content for free. Make sure to treat yourself on this. You will for sure spend time on this game and look up and wonder where all the time went.
You can date , get married , farm , fish , mine , explore , be a good person , or be bad. Its all in there. Pick what makes you happy. No wrong way to play this.
Playing on PC you can easily mod this, but play the first version before you go anywhere with modding, you will find it enjoyable.
I highly reccomend this for anyone who likes these types of games. If you are unsure if you would like it make sure to check out a video on youtube.
I resisted this game for years. I finally put several hours into it. The world is fairly open, and there are a lot of quests and npcs to get familiar with. After only a few days, I believe the price of Stardew Valley is very generous for what the game offers.
Good: -
There's so much content. This game continually surprises me with all the mini games and extra game mechanics.
-I didn't think I'd appreciate the tool/item crafting, but I now see how it adds to the game depth as my farm grows.
-So far, the game is friendly enough to enjoy with friends and family. I like the fact that it doesn't rely on guns and violence to engage the player, but still offers optional combat in the mines.
- All the in-game routines have something of a meditative effect. I often feel a little more relaxed after playing. It wouldn't be surprising if Stardew Valley were being used in neuroscience research.
Bad:
- Tracking down the npcs takes more work than most of the quests themselves. That process can be a little boring at times, but whatever. Maybe it's designed that way to get the player to explore more of the map.
- The plot is forgettable. Something about a bus and a community centre? The plot thread is just too thin. Maybe it will come together later on, but all the side quests feel like complete diversions from the story. It would be nice if they were a little more integrated than just earning money/supplies.
From the outside, it looks similar to other games in the genre, but once you've scratched the surface, it is so much more.
Yes, you are the newly-arrived citizen of a quaint town. Yes, you have inherited a small farm from your deceased grandfather. Yes, you meet and get to build relationships with townspeople. Yes, there is a mine to collect ores and metals needed to upgrade your tools. Yes, it's a definite callback to what we all know and love about the genre. However, there is so much more to do. I would not have racked up hundreds of hours of play if there wasn't.
Conceived and produced wholly by Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, Stardew Valley takes a common formula, improves the heck out of it, and then adds even more. After finding points in the original Harvest Moon series that he didn't like so much, ConcernedApe took it upon himself to change the genre from the inside, and he definitely has left a lasting mark on the market. Considering the level of detail that is in this game, and that it is from a one-man show of a maker, Stardew Valley is impressive and quaint all in one package. And even when you think you've seen it all, the active and creative modding community makes it even better, adding fresh ideas and content for more immersive playthroughs.
The main drawback, however, is that there are only a certain number of hours in the day, while there is so much you want and need to do to satisfy your curiosity. Also, the fishing mechanic is simplistic to the point of near obsolescence.
If you're looking for a simple, easy to learn and enjoy game, or even a walk through nostalgic memories, here is your game.
To be honest, I first bought a pirated copy of this game and was skeptical at first, and to my surprise this game's so good that I played it almost everyday (around 15 hours of game time per day) and then weeks after I finished it, I discovered GOG, and then I saw this game on here, and guess what? I decided to buy it again the legit way, to support very fine game such as this, I appreciate great games, and to that note, I surely don't mind spending extra money in order to support the developer. This game is that good.
It reminds me of Harvest Moon (when it was still good) combined with Minecraft-ish crafting systems and UI, there's TONS of things to do (farming,fishing,mining,crafting,etc) making this game has a very good lifespan, I definitely recommend this game, just buy it, you won't regret it if you like simulation-RPG-kinda-game like Harvest Moon.
