I am in agreement with edorien. GOG hasn't bothered to keep EAW updated like Steam has done.

Tbh all the good mods don't fully support gog anymore because the game isn't as updated as the steam version. And the mods that do have very reduced features. I suggest getting it on steam, best decision you'll ever make

By itself, the game is Ok. The graphics can be a little dated; campaigns and battles are fun. But to really experience EAW to its potential, you need to play some of its mods. I don't even play the vanilla game anymore because when modded it is far better. A great deal of awesome work has been done which brings EAW: FOC up to the present, adds a ton of replay value, and makes the game worth it for sure.

GOG really needs to add this to the preservation program so we can finally get the updates the steam version got. Without those updates/mod support I can't give it more than three stars, with them it would be five stars easily.
hey there
just a hint for those of you with "lags"
search the web for 4gb mod - works fine for me (W10 x64)
this mod/patch only works for the GoG Version of the Game because Steam doesnt like things like that
(think some sort of cheat protection)
for those of you who just done with campaign - try steiners mod reloaded for GC -lots a new units n stuff
(its breaking some campaign triggers (like moff kalast doesnt appear) so only use if you done them ;) )
