Star Wars™ Empire at War: Gold Pack includes Star Wars™ Empire at War and the expansion pack Star Wars™ Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Command or corrupt an entire galaxy in the definitive Star Wars™ strategy collection. It is a time of galactic civil war. Will you take up the reins of the Rebellion, assume control of the Empire, or rule the Star Wars Underworld?
Star Wars™ Empire at War From the lives of soldiers to the deaths of planets, you are the supreme galactic commander. It is a time of galactic civil war. Take up the reins of the Rebellion or assume control for the Empire. Whichever you choose, it will be up to YOU to steer your side to ultimate victory. Command everything from individual troops to starships and even the mighty Death Star as you execute campaigns on the ground, in space and across the galaxy. Forget tedious resource gathering – just jump straight into the heart of the action. You can even change Star Wars history! Every decision affects your next battle and every battle helps shape the fate of the galaxy.
Star Wars™ Empire at War: Forces of Corruption:
You’ve played the light side. You’ve played the dark side. Now play the corrupt side! As Tyber Zann you’ll stop at nothing to become the most notorious criminal leader since Jabba the Hutt. With all new tactics like piracy, kidnapping, racketeering and bribery, you can control the shadowy forces of corruption in your attempt to rule the Star Wars underworld. Don’t just control the galaxy…corrupt it!
This was the best starwars strategy game ever released. I loved it, even the expansion was good, just not great. Probably the only downside, the land battles, C&C mechanics. The space battles alone were epic and should have been the only thing.
This game is fun! It has all the things you need to be great and, gladly, there are a lot of good mods out there. I played the Steiner AOR Mod (which tries to relieve some of the old Rebellion glory) and also some Prequel Mods that are quite good from what I've seen in playthroughs. The Game itself in it's vanilla state is, after playing it with some serious mods, for me unplayable. But I have to rank it with 4 Stars, given the time I sank into it.
When disney dissolved lucasarts, so went the site that had the patch for my physical copy of this game, meaning it would not work with windows 7 anymore.
Skip to twop days ago when I found this on GOG.
Now onto the review. If you are a sdtar wars fan, you will love this game to bits
I used to own the physical copy of this game - same version as here on GoG. I ran the game on the same computer about 5 years back from the physical copy (when I still owned it) and the game worked just fine. I can't say the same for the version sold on GoG.

Game runs off my 1TB WD Black (like all my other games I have from GoG and they don't run poorly)
The game plays okay through all the introduction maps and even the start of a story mode game, but after about 15-20 in-game days have passed the game starts to chug. It's like watching a horrific slideshow. The game play so slow at times it take 10+ seconds to switch between planets on the galactic map and trying to move in battles becomes irritating with the inability to actually select units or move the map so you can continue to move your units forward.
If you really want this game, do yourself a favor, track down a physicl copy of it. I might just have to do that.
Both, the base game and the addon.
System and drivers are up-to-date and no hack-crack-shit software are on my system.
And be sure, to NOT install it in some subdirectory on c:\
On every partition/disk i have my own gog_game directory e.g. d:\gog_games\...
May that avoid som problem to get the game running.
