Bring the authentic Tabletop gaming experience to your PC!
Roll for initiative, take attacks of opportunity, manage player location and the verticality of the battle field. Set yourself up for the finishing strike and possibly roll a natural 20 at that key moment of battle.
In Solasta, you take control of four heroes, each with unique skills that complement one another. Every hero expresses themselves in the adventure, making each action and dialog choice a dynamic part to the story. Players will create their heroes just as they would in a pen-and-paper game by choosing their race, class, personality and rolling for their stats.
You make the choices, dice decide your destiny.
Key Features:
An Epic Team Adventure
Discover the shattered world of Solasta: explore ruins and dungeons for legendary treasures, learn the truth of an age-old cataclysm - and stop it from happening again.
Create your very own party of adventurers with our Character Creation Tool in the classic tabletop RPG tradition. Breathe life into your heroes, and see their personalities reflected in their dialogue. Tailor your squad to your preferred strategy and maximize your party's abilities. The choice is yours.
Discover a Mysterious & Dynamic World
Delve into long forgotten dungeons to unearth ancient artifacts, but stay watchful of light and darkness: many dangers hide in the dark, but a light can attract monsters. Some enemies have darkvision, some may flee from your torch... Successful adventurers will learn to use it to their advantage.
Fight monsters in squad-level, turn-based, tactical combat. Solasta's dynamic environment offers some interesting tactical options. Bridges can collapse, leaving enemies stranded and vulnerable. Walls and columns can be pushed over - on top of your foes, if you do it right. The world is your playground.
Prepare to Think in Three Dimensions
The dungeons in Solasta are more than flat game-boards. Climb, jump, or fly around obstacles. Evade or surprise foes from above or below. Push them into chasms or drop things on their heads. Position yourself on high grounds to start the fight with an advantage.
Size also matters. Escape through narrow passages where bigger enemies won't fit and crawl through tunnels to find secret areas. Take advantage of the environment to find cover suited to your own size. Watch out, though - the monsters are also thinking vertically.
Dungeon Maker
In Solasta, the adventure does not stop after the campaign is over. Unleash your creativity and craft your own dungeons to play and share with friends with the snap of a finger using the in-game Dungeon Maker! From the room layout, monster composition and treasure the party will find – down to the decoration and lighting of each room or the music track playing – everything is decided by you.
Note that the Dungeon Maker is a work in progress and will keep being improved as time goes by, so look forward to more Dungeon Maker features in the future!
Solasta Free Content Update with the release of Primal Calling

Very enjoyable turn-based game. Character creation is very in-depth and detailed, in regards to skills, abilities, etc. If you're a D&D fan you will like this game.
I played early access - 0.48 or so. At this stage, lots of bugs, but nothing game-breaking. It is a faithful implementation of D&D 5e, to the point where it might be a good way to learn how the rules work. On the downside, and, at least at this point, the tutorial, or at least, the mandatory tutorials I went through, do not explain in full detail the intricacies of how those rules can interact in tabletop play. A player might have to refer to the 5th edition OGL ruleset to gain insight as to why certain things play out the way they do.
In terms of the game itself, I liked it quite a bi. The voice acting is decent and I like being able to build an entire party. That does mean that there are no huge dreamtics. It's a game about being a D&D adventurer. The tactical fights are good, with some great use of verticality (fighting on narrow ledges etc) that you don't see in other D&D video games
Between obvious bugs, like expensive magic items or feats straight up not working, intentional design choices like long resting only being possible in pre-established sites (I must have missed the 5e rule that says: "To take a long rest a campfire is necessary. Campfires can't be built by mortal beings, such advanced fires were only created by the gods at the dawn of time and must be found.") and the phoned in, lazy voice acting, this game becomes a frustrating experience. I do not recommend it.
I have only created one character and played the tutorial but I'm thinking about asking for a refund.
On the positive side, the combat system seems to be similar to ToEE, the only D&D computergame so far I really like. After all, real turn based combat is, at least if you have to control a whole party, the only way to use area effect spells with any kind of precision.
The basic clothing for the characters and the camera controls are at least not quite as bad as in NWN 2.
Character creation: Well, I'm a bit disappointed, but that alone wouldn't make me rate the game so bad. I thought there would be more classes to choose from, and especiallly I miss the bard, since that is one of my favorite classes since AD&D 2nd Edition.
And none of the available backgrounds is anything I'd like to have for one of my characters.
Orientation on the map is not easy, especially since there are no compass points. But sometimes you geet directions like: go north; but where the hell is north?!
You can probably get used to it, but there is one thing that made me curse and swear and want to throw the computer out of the window: The dialog system!
For the start of the tutorial there is a camerashot showing the characters assembling in a tavern (for the record: quite long and boring), then the first character says something, the soundfile is played, the subtitle printed, and teh you wait... and wait... and wait... and wait some more until finally the camera zooms in on the next actor and the whole thing starts again...
And no (at least no obvious) way to speed it up!!!
TLDR; most enjoyable D&D adapted game I've played...and I've pretty much played everything from the Gold Boxes up to this.
The character interactions are what make it so great for me. I felt like there was genuine relationships being built between the characters and they had personalities. I loved the tactical turn based combat - just like a DND game. Story line was well developed although the world is pretty linear in the way you explore it from site to site to solve the main quest.
My one gripe is the camera controls. The game is so great that I put up with what felt like a pretty clunky set of manual controls. I much prefer using the mouse in what seems like an industry standard set of controls (like in POE for example). The keyboard QEAD keys didn't really do anything for my enjoyment.
As many other reviews have said, visually its not as good as some of its competitors but its not terrible either and tbh I didn't even notice as the game was so good.
I cannot wait for the new campaign and multiplayer. I think this game will be very good with a few friends as well.
