Needs work

Its not polished. My main issue is when you go into the inventory and then leave, the game bugs into slow motion gameplay. This only gets fixed when you leave the current dungeon or when you are teleported. I've only played a little bit, but it seems like an ok linear story. The bosses are insanely hard, so I think the point is to grind to beat them. You level up and apply 3 skill points to either Health, Mana, Strength, or Intelligence. You receive gold from killing monsters and completing quests. I found a shop that had a book that teaches you a healing spell but for the most part they sell potions that you can get every now and then as a monster drop. The game might be worth the $7.49 I paid when it was 50% off, but that's to be seen the more I play. The game shows a little bit of jiggle when you click the hint button to have the MC say something and during some scenes. There is a NSFW DLC that as far as I've seen only shows a different death screen. I'll give this 3 stars as it will be its first review, but it probably should be 2 for being average in gameplay while having a pretty annoying bug. If the bug gets patched and as I play more, I find it's deserving, I'll update the rating appropriately.

Fun, not too long, some quirks.

Review is without the nsfw patch. A straight forward game that provides a nice nostalgia boost. Combat andd gameplay is decent, but the story is basic and never really fleshed out. It feels almost as though it was intended to be more ambitious. There is only one town, andd much of it feels like empty window dressing - there's an inn you can't use (closed for renovations), a guild shop that sells only sells two basic potions despite having a sword icon, another shop that sells magic and a better potion, and that's about it. The map has a feww different biomes but aside from grinding to beat tougher bosses (you will need to do this, as they spike hard in difficulty and the hitboxes can be unforigivng) , you can explore and do everything in 4-6 hours. I didn't encounter any bugs, includidng the one specified by the previous review, but I did find a minor issue in that spell descriptions are wrong - they list the cost for almost everything as 1MP, even when it can cost you 5 per cast. Suggest getting it on sale, or finding an OG gameboy and playing Fina Fantasy Adventure instead.
