Description

 

This game is inspired by my love for densely built cities around the world—the kind of places where every wall, alley, and rooftop tells a story.

 

You’ll be encouraged to build upwards, fill the smallest gaps, and find clever ways to place light sources or decorations to bring your creations to life.

 

 

You’ll step into the role of a surveyor, building and photographing 20 distinct locations, each with its own mood and identity. Be it the warm glow of the Hotpot Casino, the charmingly cramped spaces of the Marshlands Pipe, or the solitude of the Lighthouse, every space gives you a new perspective.

 

How you place things together is entirely up to you.

 

Upgrades are available for larger structures like buildings and gates, but they’ll need a bit of care to reach their full potential. By providing light, utilities, and decorations, places like shops, apartment blocks, or gates can evolve into detailed spaces. Completing an upgrade unlocks new objects and decorations, giving you even more ways to shape the town.

 

When you finish a location, frame the shot, take a pic, then add it to your dossier before moving to your next blank canvas.

 

 

Each location presents a unique set of objects and a limited space to build within. Whether it’s food trucks, neon signs, or industrial smokestacks, players must carefully fit everything together to create a dense, living space that feels right.

 

This is a casual game through and through. There are no wrong answers here. Remember to make each placement personal, and every messy little corner adds to the charm.

This is a game you can play in one evening, or for hours if you want to dive that deep. It's fun, well-made, and gorgeous when you finish a location. ShantyTown is a cozy town builder you can enjoy at your own pace, and that's something incredible.

Cozy and creative

What a lovely game! You get to decorate different locations on a map with objectives that makes you think a little extra on how it all could be connected. Its completely free and relaxing and adorable. recommend if you like decorating type of games!

Sit down, relax, and build

I'm not the kind of player who enjoys this type of games where there is no goal. For me is a nice and good looking time-killer game to build something meanwhile I watch a vídeo. If that works for you, this game is fantastic. Just you and some houses, blocks, and props to build a city. Nothing is wrong here. The soundtrack fits perfectly the theme of this game. I recomend to give it a try at least, if this is your cup of tea type game

What a fun way to relax

I can't get enough! This game has no enemy trying to get at you. You simply be creative and build little tin buildings, like one sees in photos of asia. All kinds of decorations, great background music, relaxing pace. It's great for when I'm not feeling competitive.

If you liked playing pretend with Lego

...this might be for you. It's a very cozy, relaxing game. Easy/mild challenge, it's more about making something you like to look at. Tiny little alleyways and neighborhoods a single city block at a time. If you just want to chill out after work (or you're stressed or burnt and just need to unwind) and cruise on something that's far more about aesthetics than challenge, this is that. The assets get reused a lot, but the real bones of this game are the locations it makes you build within the constraints of and how heavily they impact the final result. It's all about making up what this neighborhood would be like in your head. If you've ever been in the densest parts of a city, this will make plenty of sense. You'll feel small looking around, too, realizing how small of an area you are affecting vs how large its surroundings are. Build that hillside terrace, that subway station, that remote island casino. Specs: Playing at 1280x720, 70% render scale, minimum settings, 30fps cap on a Ryzen 3700U laptop. Will probably run okay on any decent integrated graphics from the last 6 years. If you have a graphics card newer than...2017? GTX 10 series? This will run fine, including the GT 1030 or 750 Ti.

Indie garbage cash grab.

When you see the "take a photo" button so prominently in the main tools bar, its because you already seen it all. There is nothing deeper. Its a diorama game (AKA "virtual model") in which there are no objectives, no incentives, no nothing. Its a program put together to satisfy miniaturism itch of some people. This is not a game. Wanna do as the dev himself here and give it 5 stars using another account/friend of him? fine, its your store; you get what you deserve.
