Don't have bugs, crash or something for me. It has nice graphics and gameplay is still good enough for arpg. Don't look that hateful comments and try yourself. Also I don't have gold version and it's coming with that remaster. Same price with the gold and it's coming with gold version plus remaster. Hating that remaster is the most illogical thing for me. I am very happy I didn't care about reviews and try it myself.
and it isn't now either. But it's entertaining, and that's all count for me. On my rig it works well, it has never crashed and I haven't had any graphical problems of any kind. And I've played for over 50 hours. There are a few side quests that are bugged (2 so far), but nothing more than that.
I've played the OG Sacred 2 gold, which is both good as an ARPG as it can get when it appears developers were having fun with making the quests, be it repetitive, and in most cases are you'll find out can fail the escort mission easily due to said escort you chaperone will get bodied by a million low level enemies, or a 10 of the strongest mobs in existence being able to cut the escort in half in a few swings.
Class variety is unique I say for the fantasy setting as far as I have play through it the first time, but can't have the mental capacity to play through it again like the die DIE hard fans that can complete the level cap 200 with all 7 characters with 600+ quest you can do on an absurdly bigger map.
Mechanics and UI is clunky at first but it does give you the easy to learn, hard the master as you delve into the complexities of each build for each class, alongside the guides and mods for the original version of the game.
The Remaster on the other hands has be alongside Sacred gold 2, which I do not have much love for as I've grew out of the genre to try and play the whole game again to see if there truly are bugs on the game.
Woe is me for not buying Sacred 2 gold before the release of the remaster on GoG.
Pros:
-You get to have 2 versions of the same game for $20s, which should both have 600+ side quests along the main one, and can be your forever game for those that are willing to complete such lengthy game (solo, co-op, or both) for the rest of your years.
-Remaster could be a simple plug and play without much fuss at the time of this review while the OG version you may need some time to set up.
-Remaster could have their one community patches/mods available in the future if the game gains some momentum and love from both fans and devs who worked on the project.
Cons:
-Not being able to chose between the OG and remaster version of the game and instead prompted the solution bundling the two game together.
-Sacred 2 Gold was much cheaper to get over the Remaster now, with no sign of getting a permanent discount for those that bought it on GoG or Steam.
-Not enough fans, both old and new to be passionate enough to create new mods surrounding this game to make it my dedicated time sink.
Overall I think I would recommend it to those that like this genre of game, have more time than $20s worth in their hands, nothing better to do, or if it goods on sale at a better discount for this game in the future.
The fans that played the OG verison of the game and stuck with it since day one, I suggest avoiding it until things improved, there will probably things that will stick out like a sore thumb, which is not a good feeling when you expected some quality of life improvements in a remaster.
3/5 I get two versions of the game in 1 for $20s
Than buying same game i own already
with AI-edited textures for new coat of paint
for extremely inflated price in worse performance
Just get creative if you wanna sell games?
i play on an asus ally and havnt had any issues, not sure what all the complainings about, its an old school rpg i played the OG sacred way back when and im happy they took the time to even bother brining this back to life, i have the og sacred 2 and it would always crash.
Thank you devs for reviving this game. Its not for everyone but what game is honestly.
