Sacred 2 Gold is included with the purchase of Sacred 2 Remaster.
Ancaria stands on the brink. T-Energy, the mysterious power source that once brought prosperity, now fuels corruption, conflict, and chaos. In the midst of war and betrayal, seven heroes rise — each with their own fate, abilities, and path through a living, breathing open world.
In this remaster of the beloved action RPG Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, players return to a massive fantasy realm filled with hundreds of quests, dangerous dungeons, and unique combat arts to master. Battle monstrous creatures, uncover ancient secrets, and shape your character through loot, leveling, and deep customization.
With refined combat mechanics, a modern UI, full controller support, and all expansions included, the remaster brings new life to a fan-favorite — whether you’re revisiting Ancaria or setting foot in it for the first time.
As a special bonus, every purchase also includes the original Sacred 2 Gold — the complete classic edition for those who want to experience the game as it was first released.

Garbage maker, destroyed memories!
My laptop has modern specifications, with 64GB of RAM and nVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU. At the default 4K resolution 3860x2160, the game stutters like a slideshow. But the original version runs well under the same hardware and software environment. Compared to the Sacred 2 Gold, the remaster is a step backward. This is unacceptable. I suspect the developers never actually played this game themselves, it’s shameful to release something like this for money.

I do not recommend this.
If you were a fan of the original Sacred 2 and were hoping for the Remaster to be worth diving back into Ancaria for, then I will recommend you wait. Wait a long time, actually. If you have the OG Sacred 2, you would be better served by making use of the Community Mod, Enhanced Edition Mod and the Elite Graphics (look for the stripped version). The only thing that the Remaster really brings to the table is the controller option. Honestly, I'd ALMOST recommend finding an old 360 or PS3 version if you want the controller option. Sure, the menu navigation is not exactly great on those and they DO crash, but....well.....that's kinda where the Remaster shines as well. The game didn't crash for me for a while, and that was somewhat comforting. However, now that I have changed over to a Dryad, the game crashes constantly. It happens frequently enough that I regard it as unplayable. Even earlier when it didn't crash, the non-Remastered version of the game was better (with Mods) insofar as it has more content (including cut content) and is far more stable. With the Elite Graphics included, you can the game to be more Large Address Aware, which helps AND it makes it look better. Also, for some reason, they decided to go with the modern style of washing out all of the color. The game looks like it was ran through the wash a few times too many. The menus are very clunky....to be expected when they need to adapt to a controller...but wow....if you do Keyboard/Mouse, stick to the original version. The visuals are washed out and drab, the graphic "upgrades" are actually hard to even notice. While the devs are responding to community feedback, I don't think this is worth your money at this time. Wait for them to release a product that is at least stable. They may never fix the atrocious menu system, nor add back in features that were in the original game that they oddly removed, but if your desire was to play this game for nostalgia then there is no need since the original is superior. If you are just being introduced to this franchise and wanted to try it out, let them at least get stability for the game before you plunk down your money. TL;DR: I cannot recommend this version of the game and would encourage you to play the original (good luck with that, they removed the superior competitor and bundled it in with this.) If the game goes on a DEEP sale, go ahead and pick it up IF they are including the original release as well, otherwise pass this by.

I don't even have to own the game to know it's a bad move to remove the original and force you to buy the Demaster to own it now if you didn't buy it back then.

Not what I expected.
I've been a fan of Sacred Gold and Sacred2 since the beginning. I was anxious to try the remastered version of Sacred2 hoping it would be great. Instead it was a complete letdown. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't have given 2 cents for it. Maybe the next one will be better.
