Project Warlock is a first person shooter that fans of Doom, Hexen and Wolfenstein cannot miss. It serves you an exploding cocktail of bullets, spells and monsters. In Project Warlock you battle through 60 levels of non stop action packed with bloodthirsty enemies and challenging bosses. The game offers not just firepower, but perk-based character development, weapon upgrades and unlockable spells system. This high-quality independent gem is priced to appeal to fans of polished indie titles and seekers of classic fps experience alike.
Back in April 2018 hundreds of gamers had a chance to experience an early build of Project Warlock and gave their enthusiastic feedback. The following six months the Buckshot team, with it’s showrunner Jakub Cislo, spent on polishing the game to bring you the most complete and satisfying experience. The end result is something you can check for yourself.
This is a must buy for Doom/Heretic/Hexen fans.
The only nasty and not immersive thing is when you see the enemies behind a glass window and they're.. weirdly still.. that should be fixed by scripting them to be active..
Gameplay is absolutely phenomenal! Not much of a story here, but it does not matter because the gameplay is just top notch - just forget about all of your troubles and shoot at everything that moves :)
The is game is just amazing. I spent so fat 10 hours and I cannot stop playing. Retro graphics, outstanding music and SFX sounds - it really is great.
For every old style FPS passionate - it is a must.
One more thing - there are many levels. It is a looong game :)
Pretty good retro shooter that could stand to lose two stages and have some more verticality.
It's odd to see a game inspired by Doom go the way of Wolfenstien 3D and have very little vertical space. Some enemies are big enough to stand above the crowd and some fly two feet off the ground, but beyond that I didn't see a point to the y-axis in this game. Maybe this was to limit scope and give the developer freedom to add 72 monsters, +10 weapons(with 2 mods each), skill points, and spells, but most of those add very little variety to the game.
This game also needs better levels. I'd gladly loose a third of the arsenal, the Egyptian zone, and turn hell into a single remix level if it meant that the castle, artic, and city zones had better set pieces and design.
The whole limited lives issue only came up once for me and never again, but I don't think it adds much. I guess I looked for secrets a little harder? But none of the secrets really felt special or hard to find.
Most of the bosses were cool in concept, but some of them were pathetically easy and the last boss glitched out for me right when I beat him.
Not too bad. Look forward to what the developer puts out next, but pray they learn from it's peers(Amid Evil, Dusk, Ion Fury) and cut smorgasbords of enemies in favor of fantastic levels.
