Description
Responding to the desperate pleas of a mysterious character from another dimension, your soul must enter the dark and futuristic city of Omikron. This is but the beginning of an epic adventure through an increasingly strange and dazzling parallel world. You must solve the ultimate mystery: why are you in Omikron and how can you get out? Think, fight, and interact with awe-inspiring environments to defeat the menacing demons that are trying to stop you. Experience the life in an alternate reality with everything it has to offer--including the secret musical performances by The Dreamers, a band of rebels led by the Omikronian incarnation of David Bowie.

Omikron: The Nomad Soul is a futuristic 3d-action adventure like no other. Combining a deep game plot with adventure, exploration, action, combat and role-playing elements, the Omikron experience will captivate you from the moment you enter the strange and wonderful world beyond our own. Only using all of your combined skills will bring you deliverance from this exotic dimension.

  • Experience "virtual reincarnation", the ability to move directly into the body of the last character you touch before dying.
  • Adventuring at a whole new level, Omikron combines puzzle solving, action, shooting, combat and role-playing elements in a deep and engrossing storyline.
  • Complete freedom to explore a vast city in real-time 3D with hundreds of fully-animated inhabitants and vehicles.

One of the best stories ever told

This game is one of a kind. Its simply magnificent experience, although I admit that it had potential for so much more. I guess back then in 1999 they didn't had the resources to make it happen quite so as they imagined it. However, it doesn't really matter, because it has one of the most intense atmospheres of a sci-fi world. It is clunky at times, but what works best about this game is that it makes your imagination finish what the game itself didn't do. The world has a huge background story. It has nice ideas, actually, the save system is the best I have ever seen, and the body changing ability was phenomenal idea. It doesn't add too much strategic value to the game, however I enjoyed much more the nice puzzles, quests, story line, even the fighting system. Being able to shoot, fight, drive a car, change bodies, investigate crimes, meet demons, hack computers, buy weapons gives it a variety, and the fact that it is not well polished doesn't bother me. After all there are 4 big cities, but they are not an open world, you may walk around , but there is not much to be done. And you know - this is NOT an issue with this game ,since its main strong point is the main story and 3 or 4 side stuff to do. The philosophy of the Nomad Soul and the weak souls of the inhabitants was also an excellent spot-on metaphor. So, putting aside some bugs and general unfinished feeling , this is one of my favourite games for me! It proves that a good game is sometimes about general experience and making your imagination work on the background, and not so much on nice mechanics.

Best game I've played. Ever

The memories I got 19 years ago when I played this are so vivid and so true like it was yesterday. There are indeed tons of annoying things like the FPS, saving system, the fights, but it is worth it. Story is compelling and intriguing, music is spot on, but what makes it the best is the ATMOSPHERE. it ia basicly the thing that can distinguish a game from another. Recommended 101%

A bit to much.

Game concept was to huge for it's times, the game tried bite to many cakes at one time. RPG/Action/Shooter/ Puzzle solving, but non was perfectly designed. But direction was good, it should be continued. Who know, If it was, then now, we all would be waiting for Nomad Soul V instead of other famous "V" .But beyond other things, designers courage should be admired, especially in times of "never ending sequels".

A Complete Mess

This game tries to be too much. Fighting game: bad, FPS: bad, Adventure game: bad. Open world adventure games don't exist for a reason. Add in obtuse puzzles, illegible fonts, bad writing, gross characterization, bad character design. David Bowie is awesome but it doesn't make this a good game. Your dialogue choices effect nothing. The body swapping mechanic sounds cool until you look at the big picture and realize the game forces you to pick certain characters at certain times and half the possessable characters are pointless. Don't get this game unless you enjoy awful games

Good janky adventure

Once you get it running, it's a fun adventure game with shooting and close combat setions. Now, you need to understand that this game is janky a.f. If you can stand this and don't mind consulting a walkthrough occasionally, you'll have good time. Shooting sections are atrocious though. Install dgvoodoo and start the .exe directly from the game folder. Changed .exe compatibility to win7, run as admin, disable full screen opt. I also ran fraps to check the fps ran at 60. On Win11. This worked for me with ctd on alt-tab only. Sometimes froze for a few seconds after loading a save game and transitioning between indoors/outdoors. Enjoy!
