Odd things are happening at the SoulStorm Brewery. It seems that the evil Glukkons are using Mudokon tears as a key ingredient to their best-selling beverage, SoulStorm Brew. And they'll stop at nothing to get them, for torturing the Mudokons is their preferred lifestyle!
Abe's peaceful retirement was shattered when visited by a vision from the Three Weirdos. Abe learned the Magog Cartel was mining Necrum, the sacred Mudokon city of the dead, to collect bones to make super-addictive SoulStorm Brew.
After freeing the Mudokon spirits imprisoned in the Mudanchee and Mudomo Vaults, Abe gained scary powers from the Weirdos, including the ability to heal his Mudokon friends of SoulStorm addiction, and the power to turn invisible. Infiltrating the transportation hub of FeeCo Depot, and using explosive farts to survive adventures at the Slig Barracks and Bonewerks, Abe broke into SoulStorm Brewery.
Once again, it's up to Abe to save his race, with just his loincloth, chants and wits. Not to mention a bad case of gas. Sound odd? Welcome back to Oddworld.
Everything you loved about Abe’s Oddysee - now with quicksaves and explosive farts!

The only thing off about this game is the fact that it doesn't have the controller support for the GOG port, even though Abe's Oddysee does have one. And it can make the game harder in one way or another.
Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus started out pretty decently. Not bad, but basically the first game with a reskin. But then, just as I was getting to what I assumed was the endpoint, the game kept going, for quite a while, and felt fresh and different! While the first couple of acts feel like a clone of Abe's Oddysee, further ones introduce newer mechanics, a more detailed story, and even improves on a failing of the previous game. That one had no final confrontation, just abruptly stopping, but in Exoddus you actually encounter and defeat the three villainous Glukkons, and in unconventional ways, too! Unfortunately the game ended up feeling a little too long for me, especially in how much game there is left after dealing with the three main antagonists. At least it can't be criticized for being short. ;)
The graphics all look fine, just as they did in Abe's Oddysee, while the gameplay is all fluid. The difficulty is a little less frustrating than the first, but still hard. It's improved greatly by the new autosave function though, which is a blessing!
Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus is a fun game, and a good sequel, well worth playing...
The greatest Oddworld game ever made! It was a lot better than Oddysee in many different ways! They added Quiksave, Quikload, more chapters and lots of cool new features!
Now they got Soulstorm coming which is a re-take of this game, new Oddworld content! Can't wait to see Soulstorm!
This is a great game. I played it when it was on PlayStation. It is definitely as good as I remember it. The game worked perfect on Windows 7 32 bit. My wired Xbox 360 controller worked perfect with it once I configured all of the buttons.
Oddworld kicks ass, and this game kicks ass. Very rarely does a sequel live up to the original, and Abe's Exoddus is one of the few shining examples that does.
But for whatever reason, I'm not a huge fan of this game. Don't get me wrong; the name Oddworld is synonymous with humor, good controls, and well-designed levels, and this game is no exception. The cut scenes are actually quite good for the time they were released, with somewhat realistic animation on the CG models. The graphics are sharp and detailed, and the controls are just as good as the first game..that is to say, excellent.
BUT, I think what bothers me about this game is that, to me, it lacks the character and originality of the first game. Sure, it's the same character, but I found that the story wasn't nearly as engrossing or fun as the original, and was trying a bit TOO hard to be funny at some points. Plus, while it DOES live up to the original, that works sort of against it as NOTHING is really different. It's almost more of an expansion pack than a standalone game.
That being said, Abe's Exoddus is still a terrific game, albeit sort of a copy of the first. I still recommend it wholeheartedly.
