This game, No More Heroes, provides some of the most fun I've had while playing a video game. Every aspect of this game oozes style and is helped by the sleazy approach the writing takes. At times, I was let down by the heavy reliance on minigames, but it struck a chord with me. It's simple and engaging ideas are what lead me to seek it out and cherish it. If I could own a digital DRM free copy, I would likely be buried with it.

I remember playing this briefly on the Wii of some friends in high school. I loved the combat and zany situations the MC [Travis Touchdown] gets into to be someone in life. under the explicit violence, foul language, and absurd comedy lies a deep and reflective story. While this game is already available on PC, It would be nice to have a DRM free version of the misadventures of the Otaku assassin.

With AMD GPUs this release is shoddy

If you are playing this with an AMD GPU on Windows 11 you are going to experience a graphical glitch that has not been solved by the developers even prior to this GOG release. The game should be showing a warm opaque noise filter and many others throughout the experience but if you run this with an AMD GPU out of the box, you will be presented with a blue tint and vertical scan-lines that do not match the original presentation of this game. To solve this issue will require using a community DirectX to Vulkan translation layer called DXVK and use the x32 folder files pasted into the games directory. Now the game will render using a translation layer to Vulkan instead of DirectX and this will correct the filter issue and the game can be played as it should be. Other problems are: Directory contains SteamAPI dll and SteamAppID files that should had been requested to be removed by GOG, you can manually remove these. Another problem is the Sound Effects are too loud causing crackling and popping audio, after reaching the first save point reduce the in-game Sound FX by 50% then save the game to improve this. This is a direct port of the PC port from Steam, the developers seems to have abandoned improving this especially for AMD users. It would had been nice to see GOG get involved to correct these issues as they are usually good about making sure the versions sold on their store are in good condition. As it stands this is not a good release so be warned of these problems I have listed if you don't want the hassle of fixing them yourself. Can be played with KBM but Controller is recommended.

My fave game on the Wii is on Gog

One of The best Game Series that started on the Wii is on GOG the best place to buy your games and my first choice for digital games well worth the wait. Motion Controls free and DRM free making a Great game even better.

Holds up extremely well.

Honestly I haven't played this in 10+ years and I was able to memorize like 80% of it and I never realized how much it influenced me as a kid. I still use the theme as a ringtone to this day. Cool upgrades, Fun minigames, Collectibles and Foul mouthed assassin with a ton of aura and wrestling moves. Love it. 11/10.

So bad it's actually amazing

Don't get me wrong, it's very janky and bad. The sound of death overlaps and the controls is something else. The pacing is F-ed and you will do menial tasks to get enough cash to do the next boss and you'll realize doing upgrades is actually detrimental to reaching the endgame. But the plot, humor and style is perfect. It's actually so good you have to play it. Peace out

A very good start

This is a very Suda51 game. You can see it in visual style and story. If you liked his previous stuff or want to try it out and see what's it all about. It's a good starting point.
