Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

A Journey of Exploration

No Man Sky offers a procedurally generated universe that no other game, as of yet, can render on such a scale; geometrically and harmoniously refined in shapes, an art style rich in colours and textures; of beautiful, harsh, dangerous, tranquil, bizarre, etc. environments, which are either abundant and immersive, or barren and yet imposing. Fertile worlds offer the opportunity of discovering creatures that can be majestic, enchanting, violent and ugly; a universe that you can explore to your heart’s content across hundreds of galaxies. The sounds and music complement each planetary system you enter, every planet you land on, each cave you explore, and each sea you dive into. Did I mention how great the sound track is? Well it is, Music for an Infinite Universe, 65DAYSOFSTATIC. Encountering Lore is a discovery in itself. Instead of a single story, the focus is presented as a consistent narrative from different perspectives as you explore. Dave Gibbons (Watchmen, Kingsman, 2000 AD) and James Swallow (Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Star Trek), have contributed to the lore of the game. Of course no one will ever see it all, but it’s a fascinating creation all the same. Simply put, your role is that of a lone explorer, seeking out worlds for the purpose of researching, cataloguing and naming; worlds, flora and fauna. Learning the languages of the alien races you meet, working towards completing your starship, your exosuit and your multi-tool. A lonely, science-fiction adventure of exploration if you like, which you embark on and that should be appreciated for the journey, and not the end. But a creation on such a scale does have its limits, it’s only to be expected. It has been said that it is an ocean a mile wide, but shallow in content. Which to be honest is true, the game is incomplete, it is lacking in content and people have been very vocal in their complaints, which is clear from the reviews. There are posts/reviews that detail these deficiencies, which might over time be remedied, if its creators choose to improve the experience with more content. The flaws have been documented, they are known, and it’s up to Hello Games to take their ‘labour of love’ from this beginning, where it is now, to where they dreamed it would go and where their customers were hoping it should be. Do I recommend it, personally I do, and I continue to enjoy the journey, which is why I have decided to give it a positive review. But in the end you should do your research and decide if it’s for you or not. The journey is long, and a love for exploration is a key prerequisite.

After 200 hours in the game.

I run the modding thread for NMS on the GOG forums. Most people will consider me a fan-boy of sorts due to that, but i hope my posts in the forums for the game have shown i am not without ability to critique the game or Hello Games. So why the 5 star rating? Well to address the in-balance in the reviews the game received here and on Steam (in particular). The game was not 'perfect' as released. The game is still not 'perfect', in truth it is still quite far from that (for many obvious gameplay reasons, and a couple of technical ones). But here is the thing. The ambition of the game deserves some consideration, as does the tenacity of Hello Games in not simply giving up in the face of the surprisingly negative and vicious back-lash they faced. They could have simply just 'run off with the money' as was a once popular refrain around the forums for this game. Why waste time on something so seemingly universally hated and commented on? Why waste time even trying to improve the game as terrible as it seemingly was to many, many people on release? For me, someone that followed the development of the game closely since the VGX reveal, NMS has been an incredible breath of gaming fresh-air in an industry i find growing more stale and risk-averse each year. But it is not the perfect game, not yet. Maybe it can be? Maybe it will be one day? After 200 hours of game time i still have yet to chose to 'finish' the game, with a near infinite universe to have fun in why would i even want that? Sure it is the way the game is designed to be played, but for a gamer like myself i will put that event off as long as possible. So i explore and experience the amazing game worlds on offer, like really explore, take my time, go off on foot, find all the creatures and flora i can, breath in the amazing alien world vista's this game throws at you. After 200 hours of game time i feel if you are here for an industry standard 'violent' fps shooter you will be disappointed (why would you want 'another' one of those in this game?!). This game is so not that kind of thing, and all the better for it. Go play CoD or pretty much any of the majority of the games industry product to get games purely focused on that. It's not as if you the gamer are in short supply of such games, they come out every year and are the majority of the big AAA game releases. For me they are boring beyond belief, tired exercises in ego-self-massaging that i do not need or ask for. Do i really need to destroy everything in a game to feel better about myself and my life? I don't think so. NMS is not such a game. After 200 hours of game time i feel some mods can really improve NMS. I hope Hello Games pay attention to this, as the modding community will be a great asset to get behind the game and provide longterm interest in it. DLC and expansions can exist perfectly happily alongside mods to provide ongoing profits for a games company. The TES games are a perfect example of this. So i really hope Hello Games think about that and allow NMS to become such a classic as the TES games are often considered by their fans. After 200 hours game time i still love playing the game, and maybe even more importantly i enjoy thinking about what this game could become, are we going to see a new 'minecraft' phenomenon for example? Is this going to become the game that Sean Murray will always be able to carry on improving as he once said he hoped for? I hope so, there is so much potential to be realised here. For the time being i will carry on enjoying the game and spending my time in it, it is such a change from the normal it deserves wider appreciation for that imho.

it's just one of the best

I think this game is awesome and developers did an amazing job creating this huge universe. yeah yeah it lags sometimes and is not fully optimized, but it's a huge and visually attractive and addictive sandbox, and I fully understand how difficult it would be to optimize all this world for all PCs especially when written using OpenGL. My specs are Ryzen 3 2200g + rx580 4gb + 16 Gb DDR-4. With tripple buffering on and number of high treads 4 and number of low treads 0 in the setting file it is 50-60 fps in space and 25-30 fps on the planet and stations. On medium setting.

Install game, launch game, "NO MAN'S SKY", white screen. Crash to Desktop! Update drivers, Crash to Desktop! Plug into second PC, Crash to Desktop! Last time I'll be preordering games from GOG considering the refund policy doesn't apply to buggy games that have launched.

Really nice if it would run with min Req

Well where do i start game looks great and what i have seen is a real treat to explore and as I thought this would be a real nice game too explore and find interesting places/things to discover in but... Here is the real catch the advertised requirements was false you don't need a minimum gfx card of Nvidia GTX 480 == OpenGL 4.2 (i own a GTX 760 == OpenGL 4.3) Heres some of the real Requirements taken from the source itself.... Quote from Twitter today 2016-08-12 Biggest issue reported so far is players without the Visual C++ Redist 2010. First PC patch released already! Update and restart if needed Number two issue so far is players who have out of date GFX drivers, or none installed. Please install latest drivers from AMD and nVidia. Number three please make sure your GFX card is above the min spec. OpenGL 4.5 is required to play No Man's Sky End Quote.... #3 Is really interresting as stated before Gtx 480 is OpenGL 4.2....
