No Man's Sky: Breach update is here!

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Bad release but awesome updates!

I got the game on release and I was extremely disappointed, but as promised the devs have kept working on it and after huge 3 patches the game has become awesome. Practically everything has been updated, from graphics to gameplay and they have added a proper story. Now you really feel like in an alive universe with lots of ways to interact with it and its inhabitants and make your mark in it. For the moment there is no real multiplayer as you can only see other players as little lights and see their bases too but aside from that, there is no other way of interact with them. Also, the combat system should be improved, like adding different attack to the monsters and robots.

Addictive exploration game...

Some people have claimed to have performance problems but the game runs smoothly and is rock solid for me - on a Win10 system with a NVIDIA GTX970 and 16 gig's of RAM and an Intel i7 4790. I find the exploration totally addictive - I'm the type of person who'd want to find all species on a planet, and while there are similarities between planets you need to adopt different approaches, e.g. if a planet has a particularly cold climate or aggressive fauna.

Good game for the un-hyped

I stayed away from the hype train surrounding the release of this game and so I didn't feel betrayed when it didn't have multiplayer. Good game, 4.5/5 Basically Minecraft in space. Which for me is like crack.

NMS has been revived!

I'll admit, I got on the hype train for this game pre-release big time! Perhaps I just didn't follow the herd mentality but when it was released, I actually did like this game, despite the performance issues. What really impresses me about NMS is how the development isn't dead....hear me out.... Hello Games could have easily written this off with "yeah ok, so we didn't do so well with this one, bad reviews....we'll move on" but no, they've been working their asses off to make it the game that should have been, this is dedication folks, this is a great example of care and development for an IP. I urge anyone who already has this game or who is planning on buying it to reconsider past negative reviews, this is not "that one overhyped" game anymore and it has been made far better. Absolutely buy it, if your'e still in doubt, wait for a sale but right now, it's still worth full price.

Ask yourself how much you love exploring

I love to explore in games. When I first bought Minecraft Alpha, I spent hours just taking in the first infinite and procedurally generated landscapes I had ever seen before learning a single gameplay mechanic. In Mass Effect 1 I searched every square of every planet and was immersed in the subtle world building discoveries. When I got Skyrim I spent 70+ hours exploring The Rift area before I started any major quest line. After close to 20 hrs, in my opinion No Man's Sky's exploration is sublime and all of its gameplay systems function to keep this fundamental aspect engaging even if the sum of its parts are not always as interesting as the exploration itself. Survival aspects such as gathering resources and crafting keep the player searching out mineral caches and give purpose to searching all the nooks of alien worlds. Limited inventory space keeps the player from amassing huge resource stuffs and makes the whole system more about what you can track down locally rather than how much you can collect at once. Flying is fun and fluid and since there is no way to crash the player is free to scan and watch like a hawk for those monoliths. Combat is simple and the crafting progression from frail little starship to One Man's Army is a small thrill. Even dying highlights exploration by only requiring you to trek back to your corpse to reclaim your stuff which will rarely put you in a position of having lost hours of resource mining due to a silly decision. There are technical issues at launch such as crashing, intense frame dips, and falling through the map when mining in some areas (be careful and reload as soon as you notice) but they don't do nearly enough to detract from the greatness of the exploration for me and I'm confident that Hello Games will fix them. You may pass over No Man's Sky expecting something more from certain aspects of its gameplay but gamers interested in the big picture of exploring a massive alien galaxy will find an enthralling experience.
