Description
No Man's Sky: Breach update is here!

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Missed potential

It does so much cool stuff but the core game that exists and has been built on top of feels like it can never truly live up to my expectations, but its still been able to capture me for many hours now so it must be doing something right at least

Product requires online connection

As stated in the game card, this requires online connectivity to get the full experience, even for single-player -- it has tons of content, including single-player content, gated by online connectivity. Attempting to play this game in an offline, disconnected method will result in numerous missing features and content. At the time of writing: "The game features online components introduced in updates (SYNTHESIS, BYTEBEAT, LIVING SHIP, EXO MECH, CROSSPLAY, DESOLATION and ORIGINS) that require Internet connection." This game fails to meet any sensible definition of a game that is free of online restrictions or digital restrictions management. It's effectively been redesigned to operate almost as an online-only title.

Initial thoughts

So far so good. Enjoying the exploration and amazed by the procedural generation. I realise the optimisation is an issue, but for me I have set everything to medium quality and, turned off AA and V-Sync (the usual culprits) and the game is perfectly playable (note: my rig is not cutting edge). And, to be honest, it looks pretty good. I remember playing Elite First Encounters, back in the day, and was super excited that you could travel down to planets, but in actuality it never worked very well; I don't know how many times I exited hyperspace too late and disintegrated when I hit the planet, and when I eventually landed, it looked terrible! No Man's sky... Well, it works like a dream. Seriously, it just works. And the visuals, sound and ambience are spot on. For me, this is the kind of game that I've dreamed of playing since being a kid (of the Star Wars generation), and so far I'm finding the pure scope of the thing astounding. I've yet to try trading, dogfighting, combat, and I've yet to really get into the crafting elements, but based on what I've seen so far, the four stars are well deserved.

Superb

No Man's Sky is a delightful open-ended game, focused on space exploration and discovery. Although from a certain point of view this title can be perceived as being an unfinished game, or a simple game sandbox, one year after its initial release it's possible to appreciate the efforts taken by the developers towards polishing the game towards an exploration experience. In this regard, the game fullfills its promises of delivering a variegated and relaxing game experience, at least for what concerns the visual and sonoric effects. At its current stage, I think that the game is worth its discounted price (23.99$). Still, I advice to look at some gameplay online first, so as to ensure that you would like this kind of gameplay experience as well. The game could be improved with: - similar building mechanics as those of Astroneer - fixing texture/map bugs which causes the player to fall through the terrain after reloading some previously mined areas - many biomes for each planet - fixing spawn/behaviour of animals: on Earth some animals move in herds, some roame alone.. most of them have a notion of territory; none of this seems to be implemented, which is a pity, though it does not ruin the game experience - fixing density of carnivores: as it stands, it appears to be a little bit too high

No Mans Sky

Ok, my pc is medium spec, i7 6 core clocked to 4.2gig, 16gig low latency ram and a 780ti. In some areas frame rate is about 20, but usually sits at 30. The start to the game is initially frustrating until you get used to all the interfaces and how to use them to your advantage. This game is pretty big, but I can see it getting repetitive in places. I have not had any crashes, it loads reasonably quickly and runs reasonably smoothly. I can see myself spending a few hours at a time, leaving it for a while and coming back reinvigorated! Has this game been overhyped? Possibly, can only blame the media and not Sean Murray though, he has just made a game he hoped people would like and was a tad different from the rest! I quite like this game and am fascinated by how it all works, and love the no loading times. I hope that the team improve the basic graphics and polish it as time goes by. I see where the developers are coming from, it is like a 50's sci fi movie (Forbidden planet springs to mind!).
