No Man's Sky: Breach update is here!

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Getting better since the 1.1 Update

It's not completely fixed yet, still has a few things wrong with it since the 1.1 update like no more Monoliths, no Planet scanner options to find them anymore. I'm not sure why they removed them. The base building stuff is okay.. I have made a few modifications, so I can place base parts anywhere, I was NO FAN of that tiny default base size.. Now, if I could mod the limits for the specialization hubs... I'd like to not have any limits, as I'd like to MOD in the ability to have multiple bases... See, that's what's gonna save this game, the modding community! I feel really sorry for the PS4 crowd, they can't MOD anything.. Is this game worth buying at the moment? I'm not sure, but like I mentioned before you've missed out on what I thought was some core gameplay... without the monoliths how do the players learn words? There are the tiny cylinders that have the glowing circle that still pop out words but they are even really hard to find now.. If you're on the fence about No Man's Sky.... Maybe wait for the 1.5 or 2.0 update (if they make it) I think those updates will be much bigger, certainly the 2.0, 3.0 and so on... What really let me down as a HUGE FAN of this game, was the fact that Hello Games dropped off the face of the Earth for a few months, all except for that disgruntled employee twitter hack message... there was NOTHING coming out of that studio, sort of a Willy Wonka effect (the original) nothing goes in nothing comes out.. To all of a sudden have this 1.1 update then some minor patches a few days later is crazy.. I was just beginning to think this game was dead.. I even emailed Hello Games, just to see if they were still alive.. then 2 days later 1.1 update was out... Your welcome?? LOL.. On my 8 core 8350 CPU & GTX 970 this game DOES lag sometimes, but I just used the nvidia optimizer it's running a little better.. It's better than Launch day, but still does need some work pop in's aren't as bad as they were.. But, Give this game another YEAR.

A game that's all about the journey

No Man's Sky was plagued by early hype and an awful launch; it would have fared better if Hello Games had simply called it an early release until the Foundation or Atlas Rises update. But that's in the past now, and the studio's worked feverishly hard on the game with several major updates, and minor fixes being released almost weekly. NMS is almost worthy of the hype now, and more's still to come. It isn't for everyone, and it never will be. There's a new and well-written story now featuring memorable characters and a much more satisfying conclusion than it had at launch, but against the backdrop of literally quintillions of world any story will just be a small part of the experience. There's a base building system and freighter ships to buy, there are faction quests and a reputation meter, there's the constant chase for new and better equipment, and the freedom to play the game as anything from a pacifist researcher to a bloodthirsty pirate, but against the galactic scale those things also fade to insignificance. And that's really the point of the game. Again and again the dialogue confronts you with the question of whether meaning can exist in an infinite universe, and challenges you to find it. There's little in the way of an endgame: the conclusion of each story thread leads to the same ultimate goal, which is to explore as many planets as you like. It's always about seeing what's waiting over the next horizon. It isn't a perfect experience. The early grind can be exhausting, and it takes hours to collect enough resources to never have to worry about grinding again. There are maybe a dozen types of planets altogether and you'll come across countless similar worlds with only minor differences in the sky or weather. But there are also moments that can never happen twice: flying among a pod of sky whales, or diving into an alien sea, or being chased through a rainswept forest by frenzied sentinel drones. Those are the experiences that make the game worthwhile.

still awful

you'd think after years of working on it that it'd be worth a buy. nope. want to build a base into a mountain or underground? too bad. everything despawns. interested in exploration? have fun with like a grand total of six or seven planet types, all of which look incredibly similar anyway. want to get into fun dogfights? yeah nah. combat sucks. and there are still so many bugs. and everything this game wants to do, elite, x3 TC, etc. all do better. forget it ever existed. it sucks. my god it sucks.

Brillant Game and Very Warm Community

been playing this game for 5 years now and it has come a long way...it was even beautiful back then with funny looking graphics and not much to do in game...however with each update it improved went past to what was possible and past few updates have been mindblowingly awesome...it is nothing like it was back in day. hello games is currently only studio in industry to all dlc updates for free i hope all biug companies can learn from them. I love this game and they even have new game coming out soon. really excited to see how it comes out.
