Players' stories
This game is a little gem. It explores the setting and implications of cosmic horror better than games with bigger budgets and longer development times. That's precisely why it's difficult to give many details without spoilers. What we know as players is that something terrible has come from space and its presence is altering the fabric of reality: we, the building we live in and our neighbours are beginning to twist and change. Some are friendly, while others are having a really hard time. The game takes about 15 hours to complete, but it forces you to make decisions constantly, so it's quite replayable. It's full of surprises and horrors, and there's more than one way to face each challenge. If you're smart enough, you'll find secret passages and hidden objects that will unlock new solutions. The OST is really good, perfect for the game and totally worth it by itselft. This game has the potential to become a cult classic, or to be forgotten by most of the gaming community for being disgusting. It's a one of the best cosmic horror games ever made. Perfect for GOG.
Look outside is a genuine (that is to say, thematic rather than jumpscare) cosmic horror game where things have gone horribly wrong in the world and you're now trapped inside. Some people are coping with this well. A lot of them are...not. But in spite of this, perhaps some of them can make the best of a bad situation.
Currently playing through this now on steam and it might be my game of the year for 2025. It's beautiful, disturbing and has an amazing soundtrack. To have it preserved on gog would be great!

Description

Look Outside is a survival horror RPG set in a single apartment building. A mysterious event turns anyone who looks out the window into grotesque monsters, leaving the world in absolute chaos. Scavenge the building to seek food, supplies, and weapons while encountering strange characters - human and otherwise.

Survival Horror & Resource Management

Plan tense expeditions outside your apartment as you fend off grotesque monsters dwelling in and around your building. Return to your home with gathered resources and partial answers to your questions to recuperate by playing games, making dinner, crafting tools, and getting to know your neighbors turned allies.

Inventive Turn-Based Combat

Clash with over 150 hand-crafted creatures in turn-based combat that accounts for space between you and your foes as you wield makeshift weapons and items you've gathered in the corridors of the building.

Impeccable Body Horror Aesthetic

Meet your macabre fate in a bizarre world teeming with an unconventional and occasionally psychotic cast of characters - some of which you can recruit and offer safe harbor in your apartment as the mystery unravels.

Small, Experimental, and Unwaveringly Weird

Offering 10 - 12 hours of playtime with a dozen boss encounters, friends to recruit, and visitors to invite back to your home, Look Outside offers different experiences for every player on their way to uncover several different endings.

Totally worth it

I’m really glad to finally see it on GOG. I had been waiting for it for a long time and knew it would eventually arrive. It’s an outstanding survival horror RPG, and it absolutely delivers in a masterful way. I’m not here to go into technical details. I just want to show my support and recommend it without hesitation. It’s a fantastic experience. I’ve finished it multiple times on other platforms, and it’s still completely worth it.

Horrifying, Hearfelt, Enthralling

This game had me hooked from the game jam. I'm so excited to see the full version come to GoG. If you like cosmic horror, body horror, or rpgs, this deserves a look.

My personal GOTY of 2025!!!

I'd been desperately waiting for this to release on GOG, and spent the last year consuming so much original release content on youtube to see people's reactions. I've since decided to not look up anything on the later "final" updates so I still have some new surprises when I play for myself semi-blind. I've been waiting specifically to catch this on sale, and even at full price, this game is BEYOND worth its weight in gold for what it includes, soundtrack as well! What if The Thing and Undertale had a Cronenberg-esque baby? This is what you get. It's horrifying, disturbing, and still wholesome and a light in the darkness (depending on how you play it). With the many different directions you can take your character and the choices you make, each playthrough can be entirely different, and you may run into new characters and enermies that you hadn't seen on a previous run. The roguelite aspects of each run can determine a lot about how each run goes in a great and fresh way rarely seen in RPGs, and immensely increases its replayability AND your desire to play it multiple times over. I normally won't replay games, if I even finish them, but this had me so instantly hooked that I plan on doing some acheivement hunting once I've gotten a solid idea of how to git gud. I normally don't even write reviews very often at all, but this game, the composer, and the solo dev (who livestreams a lot of his game dev work mulitple times a week!) all deserve a chance to be played by anyone even remotely into horror games. And if you're willing to brave the horrors within, I'm sure you'll find your own light in the dark. <3

Amazing Lovecraftian Survival Horror RPG

I feel like I've just scratched the surface of this game, but I absolutely love it so far! It has amazing art, amazing atmosphere, amazing writing, amazing music, amazing gameplay, and amazing everything basically. Seriously play this game if you enjoy survival horror, Lovecraft, Earthbound, and want to explore a dark yet somehow comforting world.
