Description

A conclusion that the base game needed

Without spoiling too much, the base game kind of ends without any sort of closure story wise. So, if you want a narrative conclusion for KIBORG, you will need this expansion. To witness that conclusion, you will need to beat 3 new levels twice, each on even higher difficulty than the base game’s highest difficulty. And I guess this is kind of understandable criticism that you can’t play these new levels with difficulty lower than 8 (7 is the highest in the base game BTW). As I wrote in the base game’s review, the game is balanced with op room clearing builds in mind, so you really need to play with meta-build, and for the most part, it’s probably the only way to play this expansion as opposed to the base game still let you play it like a normal beat’em up at lower difficulty. And I must also point out that, new levels are as much as, if not more, junky as the base game. It’s common site that enemy (or worse, you) gets stuck in some geometry, characters stuck in weird motions, etc. Personally, I feel this should’ve been included in the base game for what it offers. But if you take their price into consideration, I guess it makes sense. Gameplay wise, this expansion brings nothing new to the table, it’s definitely a more of the same kind of content (which is not necessarily a bad thing). If anything, it actually offers fewer ways to enjoy its content than the base game, and that makes a poor cost-value proposition for me. So, I would recommend that you should try the base game first, beat the highest difficulty, and if you still like the game, if you still want to know the fate of Morgan (and maybe Volkov), then you should consider getting this.
