Fun game, translation needs work

Positives: There's tons to do: building your own town, becoming a more notorious villain, side quests, grinding for mats, etc. It's your typical JRPG with a bit of a twist in the "weakness break" system, where using the right combination of attacks against an enemy opens them up to lots more damage and special attacks. You can also level up your active and passive skills by using them, so whatever play style you choose to use will grow with you. Good character design and style, everyone feels unique. Adjustable difficulty to suit your desires. Works great on Linux. Negatives: The game falls a bit short in the translation ("Allows to challenge in misiions and Villain Pass"). It can almost be ignored, but it makes the game harder to play because you have to figure out what they're trying to say. Neutrals: It has a "battle pass" and quite a few systems that feel like they're straight out of a gacha game, but without any real money purchase being required. You earn currency for them by battling and playing the game normally.

Interesting JRPG with a twist

Solid RPG game with built-in Pay to Win / Gacha mechanics, but without any of the financial burden behind them. Pros: - The story is not extraordinary, but it ties in nicely with the game setting - Characters are well constructed, each with their own personalities and often backstories - Playing the game normally grants you several "evilcoins", the in-game currency for all the "paid" content - The "paid" content ranges from high consequence mechanics (such as increased damage, exp gains, drop rates, etc.), to less directly influencial purchases (such as trading coins for specific items). - There is a lot of humor in the game without feeling overly forced, even if it might not be everyone's cup of tea - Certain areas are locked behind the "paid" content, however they are mostly locking some extra chests (apart from post-game where an actual dungeon is locked), meaning that if you do try to play the game without the "paid" content then it will potentially lock you out - Overall the game feels well balanced when taking into account how accessible some of the things become with the "paid" content mechanic (e.g. I've completed the game in the highest difficulty) Cons: - The only thing that for me really prevents me from giving the game 5 stars is the English translation. The translation is quite appaling. For someone that is used to speaking English and rather fluent the content is still quite discernible, however I can see how it might be quite criptic for someone less versed in the language. It is by far the only thing that I felt really detracts from the rest of the game. - In GoG it doesn't seem to have the "DLCs" available for example in Steam, however I would classify those DLCs as a con since they only seem to provide tweaks to some game components (e.g. triple the exp, no skill costs, etc) which to me feel like a way to try and make players frustrated with a potential difficulty in the game spend actual money

It needs work

The premise is interesting: you are the villain. The execution is...eh. It works. But nothing more. So, what do we have? Combat is decent to good. Buff/debuff management is key to survival, simply spamming the attack button won't let you get past anything that dies in more than three hits, let alone the actual bosses. The plot can get a bit cringey, but it has its moments. (Reef best girl). The english translation is awful. A good chunk of it should be rewritten from the scratch, because it is either grammatically wrong, or feels unnatural to read. Finally, we need more portraits! There are important characters that don't have them, while they should. Why?!? 3/5. With a bit more work, this game could get another star.

Works on Linux, Minor Annoyances

Despite the warnings, it took almost no effort to get it working on Linux (Wine GE 8 was enough), and I have had no problems with the game itself. That said, there are some design decisions that I take issue with. First, as others have said, the translation is bad. Hopefully fixed in future releases or by fan patch. Second, character snapping. If I talk to someone, I snap to a nearby grid square. Third, menu popups. The right-side menu has a weird habit of popping up at strange times. All minor gripes, still enjoyable overall.
