Wish I Could Rate it Higher

This game is decent, but the writing needs work. Up until chapter 6 the world felt underdeveloped. We are told the Mega-Corporations are evil without seeing them do anything except a news story about an arms corporation dealing weapons in a war zone (no duh). Even the anti-personell mines don't feel like that big a deal if you know anything about the history of the rule of war. As for characters they start out as cutout and gain personality, but to me they don't feel fleshed out until chapert 6. I could go into this, but it would be massive spoilers. Animations are well done. This being an AVN there is lewd animations and those are animated great for everything except the facial movements and a lot of games can't get that right. This game has some of the better facial animations. The non lewd animations aren't as well done as the lewd scenes, especially the driving scenes that are supposed to be faster paced. For sound design I don't have any really big critiques on except that the lewd scenes are silent. Which I'm fine with no lewd sounds if the creators don't feel comfortable with it, but no sexy background music is an interesting choice. Overall decent game, writing starts out rough but has gone much better as chapters progress. Edit: grammer and will update with future updates.

X-Men for Adults

Disclaimer: At the time of this review the game offers 6 of 8 planned episodes and the review is based purely on these. I have to say that it took me a while to enjoy this game since at first I was not quite sure what the game would be about. Now, after playing about 15 hours and having 100% completed it I know and I am in love with it. The game tells an X-Men like story about everyday heroes who somehow developed certain superpowers and who are trying to use them for the good. The story is clearly focusing on characters instead of just displaying lewd scenes or action scenes. Every character has a background story and not a single one is just a pretty face. However the game also offers the mentioned action scenes which are displayed in well done animations and lewd scenes - again displayed in well done animations AND with additional camera options. In opposite to several of these games you also have a lot of coices - including the choice to reject every single character. So how the relationships develop is absolutely up to the player and not decided by the story. You can also chose which name you want to give your character, what name their superhero alter ego should have and even how this group of superheroes should be named or how certain characters or your superhero suit should adress you. Everything is up to you. The story itself offers quite a lot of surprises and plot twitsts which I would not have expected in simple story about super heroes. Of course I won't spoil them here. Gameplay wise in addition to the choices you can make the game also offers something new: there are some scenes in which you could spot clues regarding the story ... if you find them certain revelations will be made in the story later. It's like an additional hidden object game included. Also each character has an accessible biography that summarises certain events and character traits. The game saves played scenes in the gallery automatically - not just the lewd ones. This way you can always see if you are still missing out on some stuff because of choices you made and you can access every part of the story directly if you want to replay it. That's a great system and it makes me wonder why this is the first AVN (of those I experienced) which uses it. Soundtrack is good, animations and renders are good, gameplay is good, story is good, characters are interesting ... absolutely recommended.

Can't wait for more

As an opening to a wider story this is very good. I'm sure corporate sleaze and it's control of politics is even more relevant now than ever. I didn't give it 5 stars because the adult part of the visual novel was somewhat lacking in comparison to other titles, in number of scenes and their quality. I'm still interested enough to want to see how the next part plays out, however.

Great for casual playing

It's what the genre says, a visual novel. Few choice options between dialogue to give your character 'a bit of style' you want, but otherwise you are in it for the ride the writer intended. There are gaps in the story, or rather the logic, and choices that you should be able to make are not available. But all in all, if you treat this like a book, you should try it. Start with the demo, gives you a good taste of what the game is about :)
