FlatOut 2

FlatOut 2 is one of my all-time favorite racing games to date. Bugbear nailed it with the sequel: better and more varied race tracks, improved controls, stupendous carnage, banging soundtrack, etc. There's really nothing bad I can say about the game. Well, okay, I've never been wild about those stadium mini-games - I completely suck at them - but they're not much more than added fluff. Anyway, FlatOut 2 is so good I've replayed the entire career path numerous times over the years, which is a rarity for me for most games. Ramming opponents at full throttle, making them flip or crash, or guiding them into immovable obstacles just never gets old.

I love this Derby like games, cars exploding, rock music bumpin', diferent rivals with their very own playstyle, for example: Jack is fast, Frank is the aggresive tank, and so and so on. A relic of a game that i didn't knew it was here before, played on PC,PS2 and the PSP version that is mostly the same althrought with new soundtrack. This game has many, many modes you can mess with: Stunts; you launch yourself to anything the games tells you. Career; your very own adventure. Derby; it is derby, i think is the most fun part of the game. Short Races; short races in short circuits, an absolute insane mode once everyone starts crashing each other. Controllers feels really good once you get used to it, not too loose and not too stiff. The arcade feel is real, during races you are rewarder for bumping into thing tires, cars, houses even, etc. It makes room for stratrgy too, do i want to bump into the tires and slow down a bit but get turbo? or just want to complete the race normally? Music is good, it just gets repetitve over time hearing all over again, but blends well with all this chaotic enviroment. You can run this game with ease, tested on a 2007 AMD Athlon X2 4600+, really old CPU, still can run this game decently. Buy this game if you want a good time, maybe for a buck or two.

I've never played this game before. But now I see how good it is. It's a hidden gem, masterpiece game. Only FlatOut Ultimate Carnage is better, because it has maps from this part of the game with better graphics, more soundtracks, It is a pity that now such games do not come out. Respect GOG for making DRM free version of this game.

Really fun racing game, great if you like crashing your rival's car and speeding with your nitro. Besides racing you can do the classic flatout minigames launching your driver through the air; derby matches and so on. The destruction feels much better than the previous game and is really fun and satisfying. . The game has three car classes, derby, racing and street cars (non licensed) and some secret ones. my main criticism is that the game does turn repetitive torwards the end because many cars feel the same and even if there are different categories you end up driving the same tracks very often. That being said I still think it's a good game if you like arcade racing.

This is as fun as the original but a few things are worth noting. Online no longer works. Load times are so much faster now you will have a tough time reading the bios and the hints. It's every bit as fun as the original.
