Firewatch is a single-player first-person mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness.
The year is 1989. You are a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor Delilah is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio—your only contact with the world you've left behind. But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the forest, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have.
A Note: Firewatch is a video game about adults having adult conversations about adult things. If you plan on playing with a younger gamer, that might be good to know going in.
A stunningly beautiful wilderness environment that expands as you explore.
A tailor-made story: the choices you make shape the narrative and build relationships.
An edge-of-your-seat mystery.
Secrets and discoveries to be made over every hill.

Hm...Firts of all, the start was really good, i though i am gonna lose in time while i am playing it, but i needed only 5 hours for it, unfortunatelly...i hoped Firewathch will be a good thiller game and it's worked, but not for long. Wait till it's on sale.
A really great game. I liked it a lot, even though it was a bit short. The story sometimes feels a bit forced but in the grand scheme it seems acceptable.
I can only recommend this game to people who love to play games that are not that fast-paced. If you can get this game during a sale and can spare 10 bucks to get yourself entertained for a few hours DO IT!
You walk around, you interact, you listen to banter and see views, and - no matter how you play - there is no real choice and the ending (always same no matter what) is questionable.
While I enjoyed Firewatch myself, I know many won't.
Thus, I must give it a fair 1/5.
I heard this game was good beforehand, and it's also a type of game I knew I would like, and I sure as hell wasn't let down. Walking around the beautiful environments, getting to know the area, experiencing this amazing story, it was all fantastic. As soon as I started playing I could barely stop until I reached the end (which I know has been critiqued but which I liked). A definite recommended game if you like nice game places and stories
First, let me say I generally do not like so-called "visual novels" or games which are barely interactive. Firewatch is interactive, but there's actually little to actually choose to do, and barely any puzzles to solve.
That said, "Firewatch" is top-notch. Visually, it amazed me: looking at the sky in a starry night was breath-taking, and I really felt I was hiking in a national forest. It also has a very moving story, and it's also an adult game -- the good kind of adult. There is some suspense and tension, but this is essentially a story about loneliness and running away from your problems, and also about friendship. This could easily work as a short story or even a short film.
I like what the developers were trying to do with this game, even if it has some flaws, and would definitely buy more games from them.
