A fun, if difficult, romp.

This version was originally developed for the Nintendo DS, which I've beaten. I prefer this version to either the original or Pixel Remaster versions; this version replaces the generic "Onion Knights" with actual characters, which in turn has a positive effect on the overall story. One thing I will say, though, is that this is a difficult game. In addition to the infamous endgame gauntlet, there are numerous difficulty spikes, as well as places where you *must* use particular Job combinations to progress. However, despite that this is a very engaging little game. It betrays its 8-bit origins in its gameplay and its NDS evolution in its graphics, but if you enjoy older FF games you'll enjoy this.

ABSOLUTE GEM OF A GAME

Great classic brought to 3D, a classic between classics simple story that shows age, but the heros journey is timeless lots of jobs to choose from, lots of customization, no hand holding, adapt or die

A true treasure

This is one of the biggest surprises I`ve seen on gog in years, to see Final Fantasy games on GOG. I was so happy not only cause of games but that I can play again games from my early childhood again. As I was playing I was trying to remember but it was very long time ago I have only fragments of memories in my head. Runs great, feels amazing after so many years, Square did great job remaking first FF games and I would love to see more of them on GOG like X, VI and others. For now I can only hope. gog did amazing thing, this is one of the biggest surprises in years. Final Fantasy III was never among my favorite FF games but for sure incredible jrpg, good story, progression, cute characters. Final verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
