F.E.A.R. Platinum

This game is great, especially for 2005, but it could be so, so much better with some extra polish, better level design, more/altered weapons, more/better scares, the works. The worst is probably the level design. It's nothing but warehouses and concrete labs, offering some pretty boring levels both visually and as a playable area. The puzzles also... exist, and the weapons are hit or miss. The weapon choices were very odd, with the pistols possibly being the best (or, at least most fun) but never getting ammo restocks; rocket launchers always launch three at a time; and there's no real sniper: there's a burst gun (which is half the weapons) that sucks and a REALLY sweet atomizer leaving only skeletons, but neither get large ammo drops. So I hope you like the assault rifle and the shotgun, the latter of which is genuinely amazing. It's a classic for a reason, but it won't knock your socks off. Again, if this got a loving remake to sand all the edges we could have another Dead Space (2023) on our hands.

Buy it , there´s not regrets...classic of classics

This is definitely not the game I remember playing. This game has been poorly optimised to run on newer systems. I'm getting something like 8fps on a GTX970 and that's with the settings turned right down. Its practically unplayable. If I hadn't got it for a few dollars I'd be banging on the door for a refund

A first person shooter with horror elements that was decently challenging and atmospheric. Sure, once you figure out the controls and the enemies you can just glide through the levels like a badass killing everything fairly easily. Yet, the game(s) were fun for me up until the end. I can barely remember any of the story, hardly interesting at all, but the gameplay was addictive and fun. AI is not completely brain-dead like so many FPS's, but I was disappointed after so many people put this game on a pedastal of AI brilliance.

Bought this because of all the great reviews. Not very impressed. The story was generic. Scares just slightly spooky. FPS action is so so.
